Steve does not believe this will change Tomacs results. He was unhappy at Kawasaki with bike setup(Much to his own fault). Paul believes Kawi to be the best team in the pits with the staff. Star to offer Mookie another contract for next year. Anderson to Kawi.

Anderson's. I don't know what is going on with Wilson or Musquin because I didn't ask about them.

The Star Yamaha 450 team out performed the Factory Yamaha by far this year. Stewart had his best season ever on that bile. Plessinger had a great year as did Daylan. The Star team proved that the Yamaha is capable of great results without a proven 450 class winner riding it. Tomac is in a completely different zone as a rider than any one that is currently riding that bike, he will be just as good as ever on that bike.

Barcia had 8 top 5's and a win last year on factory Yamaha.

If you add up all the top 5 finishes from all three guys they combined for 9 top 5 finishes and 0 wins.

Malcom did indeed score 4 more season points in 2021 than 2020. He also improved his best finish by 1 position.

Plessinger did improve significantly this season as one would expect being his 3rd year and also finally being healthy.

Dylan's rookies season. Lots of lows and some highs.

I'm only providing facts is all. Not arguing. So take the facts for what you want.

And Barcia had 10 top 5's and 1 win in 2021. All of the Star Riders improved compared to their year prior (save DF since he was a rookie). AP most definitely improved. The takeaway - everyone not riding for Factory Yamaha improved with their new team in 2021.

Facts are just numbers if you dont see surroundings. Id say 2021 SX season was different because all "big names" stayed in game whole season. Normally we have less than half left for last rounds. With that I would say Barcia, Malcolm, Plessinger upped their game and Dylan made this season even harder by adding one fast racer in the mix.

A guy of the caliber of tomac wouldn't really matter what brand he is on, his problem is his consistency, when he's on he's unbeatable, hopefully a change can lift his confidence.

Didn't have a clue what Stitcher was since there's a new app everyday and I couldn't care less, won't work neither on Chrome nor on Firefox, end of the story...

I'm a little confused. Can you define "Big Names"?

Tomac, Roczen and Webb and Barcia were all there last year until the end and again this year as well.

We missed Sexton, Adam, Anderson, bogle, Baggett, Osborne, Tickle, Bloss, Brayton, Shane throughout parts of the season.

Who were the big names not there last year that was there all season this year?

How different was it really? Guys like Aray, Clason and Starling were still putting it into main events there halfways through the season.

Stitcher is free, you can simply search podcasts. It works amazing and is perfect for the morning or evening drive home from work.

2021 SX was much, much deeper than 2020, so comparing points totals is comparing apples to oranges. Compared to other elite factory riders like Webb, Roczen, and Tomac, Stewart and Plessinger were much more competitive against them then ever before. And when DF wasn't on the ground, he was typically one of the faster guys on the track. He seemed to be a slow starter and took some time to settle into main events, but around the halfway point he would seem to turn it up and proved to be a very competitive rider. Sure, none of the Star guys were title competitors, but they really weren't expected to be. But at the same time, they were extremely competitive against the top guys. In fact, if you were to watch one main event without context, you probably wouldn't guess that the Star guys weren't thought of as title competitors.

I tend to agree with Perebijnos on everything, but man he definitely seemed to be personally tied to the Kawi side of this. I do understand he has personal experience with those guys and some current relationships within Kawi, but it seemed a bit much.
I AM a Tomac fan, but I also can see he's probably his own worst enemy in a way with the team and his "entourage."
Maybe Yamaha makes a difference, maybe not. I don't think his issues are bike-related. I think he'll stay about where he is results wise.
It's more about fitting in with a team than it is about the bike sometimes. Webb is thriving at KTM because of the whole program, not just the bike. Tomac would probably be miserable in Florida full-time so no matter how good the bike and training would be, I think it would kill his confidence even though KTM is "the team."
It's all relative.

Yep most of these guys can ride almost anything it’s just a matter of being comfortable with the team and the ability to communicate well

A dying breed. I personally like the podcasts, I don’t watch the video formats but there is nuance and innuendo that you can get from listening that you can’t from an article or question and answer text interview.

Him going to a Blue Pig is career suicide. I guess he just gonna take more money and call it a day. Yamaha? Those bikes suck! Easily the worst 450 out there.
