So this weekend I went to my second race and I ran the d class and won both of my motos and I want to become a b class rider or a top c rider, what things should I work on to get to that point?
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
You may need ti motor mounts.
Really though watch some Ryno vids.
Didn’t know there was a D class...where’s that?
Save your bling money for suspension and fresh tires, ride with faster people, focus less on speed and more technique. The more I focused on where each part of my body was and how everything should worked in sync I dropped lap times and could ride much longer without my body getting tired.
Pit Row
Ride as often as you can,
Get fitter, run, cross train, anything that makes you sweat.
2. Watch AJ Catanzaro videos on YouTube. Ryan Hughes is good but he tends to go down some strange rabbit holes. Aj is good at describing the technique and meeting riders at their skill level.
3. Go practice, and focus on technique, and body position, don’t just go out there and do fast laps. Do drills like standing up whole laps, riding in one gear things like that.
4. The key to getting faster overall is practice, the key to going fast on race day is learning the track quickly. Ride the tracks you plan to race at. Jeff walker explains this well. Most local races don’t provide adequate practice time so you have to get up to speed and get comfortable fast.
First lap of practice check the track out but don’t roll around.
Second lap still cruising, jump off every jump, don’t have to clear everything but make an effort and make note of it.
Lap 3 pick up speed around the track try to clear everything.
Lap 4 and 5 start putting it all together and pick up speed.
Second practice should be nothin but getting comfortable and figuring out lines.
Riding schools - as many as you can afford, preferby with a ex Top tier Pro who can help with correct bike setup, riding techniques and off track training.
Good luck going forward.
