I wonder if there was a problem sourcing Magura equipment and the reason they switched to Brembo this year. They really are just white KTMs now. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’d be cool if they would create some sort of hierarchy for the brands or create some differentiation... high end/low end, pro focused/vet focused. Obviously GasGas has been segmented as the affordable option, but they should keep running with the idea. Just something to give customers a real reason to buy one over the other beyond color.

Yeah, the subframes are different. But if you’re a mere mortal like 99% of us and your last name isn’t Anderson or Webb, you’ll have a hard time noticing a difference. I’m just saying, make an obvious difference. Wtf man?

Sure am glad KTM bought the Husqvarna brand. I remember them saying, that in the future, they would be making models that were more Husqvarna than just re-branded KTM's. Still waiting.

When do the Austrian FE's usually get released? I am excited to see what they end up doing.
In December, but usually it takes a couple of months before they arrive to the dealers.

Is the idea still to release right before SX season kicks off?

They have!
It's been explained that the Husky are the higher end brand directed towards the bet crowd that has money to burn on the nicest bike you can buy off the showroom floor.
KTM is built ready to race off the showroom floor
GasGas is setup to be the general "entry level-ish brand" with lesser ready to race components and not as nice overall as Husky, its considered more of an entry level brand that's priced as their lowest price point bike to get riders on the "entry level" KTM platform without the crazy high costs of msrp, trick components off the showroom floor like billet clamps, hubs etc...

By the way....it looks like 3 different design teams that never even spoke to each other worked on the airbox, rad shroud, and number plate design and then pasted their part onto the bike. Holy shit I that a shit-mixed and horrible look. The lines and aesthetics do not line up or look good at all!!! I thought the 2022's looked decent till I noticed that.
It almost looks like the Husky design team from the early 80's was in charge of this shit project

So how is a Husky any less “Ready To Race” than a KTM? Never understood why people say this.

different suspension settings, lower motorcycle, restricted muffler, different maps, all designed for vet riders.

I rode a new friend's almost stock 21 FC 450 yesterday at Glen Helen, and it does appear to be a mellow version of the 450 SXF.

The power with the stock restricted muffler and the unvented air filter cover seem to make the response in map 2 less aggressive. Going up MSH I could tell the bike was down on power a bit as compared to my KTM.

While I wouldn't mind the mellow engine response at the end of a 20 minute moto when I'm tired and just looking to maintain the pace, this bike would need some extra power during the start or the first few laps.

I am an old man BTW.

Like Brent mentioned above. The white bikes are softer and more mellow than the orange ones in stock trim (at least the MX models).

I have one too. The only difference is the brake and clutch components and we got a map switch.

I'm glad the 22 is the same, means I won't want to get one haha!

I keep hearing rumors that Husky has done away with the lowered suspension on the mx'ers for '22, but there is no mention of it in the press releases. I could see it from a cost cutting perspective, but the lowered suspension has been well received by riders and in the bike tests. I've got a '21 TC 250, and I'm definitely a fan of the lowered suspension.
Anyone know for sure?

Keefer initially posted on IG that the lowered susp was dropped. Then about an hour later, he made a specific point to come back and correct himself and say the 2022's will have the lowered suspension.

It looks that way and it looks good but I wonder if it is just the lighting.

Nice to see the an update to full Brembo. This is a part I replaced on my 21. Not a fan of 1 bolt adjustment for levers it’s either tight or falls when adjusting. Especially annoying when 1, bolts is located right on the throttle housing cables. I’d have to loosen throttle to make brake lever adjustment.

Point of clarification, the rear master cylinder was already Brembo on the 2020 and 2021 (and likely earlier but those are what I have sitting here). The calipers are also Brembo. So, literally the only brake part that was Magura was the front master cylinder.

My 2020 FX 350 is full Magura. Mugura calipers front/rear, clutch and brake master cylinders and slave cylinder (which was replaced my a Rekluse).
You must be talking about the FC

Yes, talking about FC/TC motocross bikes. Understood the off road bikes are spec'd differently.

Not on the XC bikes. All Magura.

After running a full Magura set up vs Brembo I’ll take Magura any day. Way more progressive feel, great stopping power. Brembo set up is much more on and off light switch feel than the Magura .
