Just recently heard Ryan Hughes talking about how SX should had 350cc bikes for its top class cuz 450cc are too much for current tracks... And we always see people asking for the 125cc 2 Strokes bikes to be back.

What would you change in the 2 classes structures if you could?

I think I'd go with:
- 125cc 2 strokes AND electrics bikes
- 350cc

In a perfect world...

Go back to the greatest era....2 strokes only.

125cc class
250cc class

Do away with the stupid start assists on the bikes.

While we're at it...get rid of the damn grates and blocks too.

125 and 250f.

A 350 still pumps out simular top HP as the 450’s with a little mellower bottom. If a 450 is to fast for the current SX tracks, so is a 350..

I think the big bike class should be 350 cc, that way all of the manufacturers would have to have a 350 cc bike. If Yamaha had one, I'd go buy one this afternoon. 450s for outdoors is fine

Change the current minimum weights, Add 2kg's for over 350cc bikes and drop 2kgs for 350's and less. Allow stroked and bored 250's to race the open class. Bring back the 125's and allow 250 2 strokes to race in the 250 class. If Yamaha would bring out a 350, Honda and Kawi would follow.

Leave the 250's but make the 450 bikes full 500's. Talkin about 125 4 strokes is silly.

To make power even close to the present 250's they would have to be wound up to 20K plus rpm.

150s and 300s. This will slow them down and make them much closer to the 125/250 2 stroke days.
Get rid of the East West and make the 150 class a national series with a limit on pay and bonus to make sure we don't have career 150 class riders.

They could actually have the west/east for the "250" but making it like.. "the regular season".
And then only the "top15"(10?) advances to these "final 3 (4? 5?) rounds" all combined, with points restarted.
Kinda NASCAR-ISH.. I know haha

The problem with the 250 class as i see it today is that the riders are pointing out of a 250 factory ride with no available 450 Factory rides. If you win a 250 championship I think that you deserve a factory 450 ride for at least 1 year.

What has that to do with the bikes?

Series organisation is a separate topic.

Two divisions. Ride whatever you want in either division. Promotion and relegation determines riders for each division.

Create a max suspension travel.

That'd bring a lot of the challenges back to jumping, whoops and speed

Have a true open class with no restrictions on anything, as light as you want and as much power as you want. Let technology R&D run free to see what's possible.

Electric. Instant torque. Stadiums could play music during the races. Crowd interaction will be huge. We could hear Jason Anderson and Alex Ray chatting.

ICE displacements are not changing again. Last change was 24 years ago. Electric is next!

Electric is good for kiddies novelty bikes but won't happen for SX.

250 mod 4t full series premier class
250 stock 4t full series entry level class
125 2t east west stepping stone class
I would also like to see an 85 or super mini exhibition class once in awhile these are the future pro's and it was a fun class to watch at the monster energy cup and is good experience for the kids

Ding ding ding. The racing was way better, riders made mistakes and couldn’t recover to still triple/quad a section. it wasn’t a traction controlled drag race from corner to corner like it is now. Compare any footage from the 90’s to now, it doesn’t even look like the same sport. Current helmet cam footage looks like it’s in fast forward, 1st through 18th are all riding the same line hitting the same marks and rhythms.

That's what was said about 20 yrs ago, the displacement needed bla bla bla, now look at where we're at.

Open Pro inc. 2t and electric.

Open under 20 years old with a $15k claiming rule and 4 regions.
It's not about the bike..

It’s the torque of the 450 that makes it such a different beast then the 350 not the top end pull. 350 in stadiums would be great I think.

125 4 strokes
250 4 strokes the new 250f’s are plenty powerful.
I would like to see less tech on the bikes, no holeshot devices, no traction control, no litpro’s
The riders need the skill to feel what’s quicker, not look at a laptop..

Yes. Almost perfect.

250 stock class would have to be "limited" though. Stock suspension in supercross is most likely a no-go for starters.

Keep 450s for Outdoor, MXGP, WORCS, etc. Then they don't have to stop making any bikes or start developing new sizes. All the bikes get made, don't have to change anything. Great solution.

125 and 250 with equal displacement rule for two and four strokes. I think there's no point having 350 class because difference in horsepower is quite minimal.

Current class structure is not working anymore because there is no real speed difference between 250's and 450's anymore. Current 250 four strokes are already faster than the 250 two strokes used to be back in their hey day

From a marketing pov, it'd make sense if there was distinguishing features between the classes or products.

The gap between the classes has never been more invisible. 250 four strokes do most everything the 450s can, and the things they can't if we're being honest are ridiculous and part of what makes 450 SX a bit boring and follow the leader.

125 entry class – low cost for the supposed satellite entry teams, better racing, and all amateur junior racing gains a lower barrier to entry as a result... we need participation for the sport's health – and no one needs to spend on a 250 engine program against their mortgage at the amateur level.

Make the 'pro' class, 300cc open. Two or four. Give the mfgs 5 years. The big four won't reboot two strokes, but it'll give amateurs a class pattern to follow, allow for privateers and small teams to build some badass two strokes, and if you remember the first couple years of the mixed comp, it was actually cool to see the differences between the bikes, what had an advantage where... and the racing is almost always better in the smaller class... so make the class that level bike and watch the riders push it to the max instead of tiptoeing in corners and jumping 3 onto a table and being scared to block pass because they're going 40mph.
