When did it become the norm to pull out of a series due to missing a couple of rounds due to minor injuries? AC has been out with a collar bone for a year and Wacko tweaked his back from a seat bounce.

Fraudulent for these two to pull out of supercross to prepare for outdoors. So disrespectful to the sport, promoter, their teams, contracts and of course fans. Lame!
Oh this guy and his posting history....apparently somebody should have pulled out years ago so none of us would have to read his posts Woohoo Sorry I couldn’t resist it was teed up too good!

As I predicted in a thread last week where he attacked me he wasn’t going to last long.....all he wanted to do is troll and see how many down votes he could get....but as we all know he will reincarnate again....

Not exactly quitting. Kawasaki made a decision to pull AC out of the series seeing as there's no upside for him to race the remaining 5 rounds. Instead they'll focus on testing and getting ready for the nationals.

Their hopes of defending the SX title this year are pretty much over, so why not get a headstart on the competition for the nationals?

Makes sense to me.

What if the sport actually had major sponsors backing these dudes? I’m sure McDonalds, Amazon, Coca Cola would be pumped to find out the guy they are backing quit. This builds a case for major sponsorship dollars to go elsewhere. These riders and teams need to look in the mirror.
I’m kind of with you on this one. Did Hannah sit out the rest of the series? Where all the tough old-timers in this thread? Doesn’t make much difference to me and them sitting out does make sense, but it’s still a shame.

Hannah bailed on the last round of his 78 championship because of "injury," so maybe not the best example.

It wasn’t an example. I wasn’t born yet so I wouldn’t know. Just surprised to see so many people disagree with OP. Obviously he’s hard to agree with which is why I said I “kind of” agree. Would prefer to see them out there if healthy is all, but fully understand why they are prepping for outdoors.

Stew came back with 6 rounds left in 2005 because he wanted his first SX win and to beat RC and Chad. His injury happened at round 2, though. So not the same really

I mean it's not the exact situation you describe, but in week 17 last year the Chiefs sat Mahomes. But in a situation just like you describe, the Steelers sat Roethlisberger and JJ Watt in week 17 because they were eliminated.

So no need to imagine there, as it's happened and the NFL rolls on.

why come back with only a handful of rounds of sx left after sitting out due to injury when outdoors is almost here? they arent battling for the title. they have nothing to lose so it makes more sense to me that they would pull out and use the extra time for outdoor prep. zach won the title in outdoors last year and ac was 2nd in points. its the logical thing to do imo.

I know you're clicked, but I'll answer anyway.

In regards to your first paragraph, not really. They're testing for outdoors, not SX. Two different disciplines and they require different set-ups. The only real benefit for AC to race the last 5 rounds would be that he'd keep himself in "race mode". That would be fine if the nationals started 2 weeks after SX ended, but that's not the case. I would think getting an outdoor setting and being comfortable on the motorcycle before the 1st round of the nationals would be more beneficial to him and Kawasaki. An extra month of testing goes a long way.

We might not have sponsors like McDonald's, Amazon, Coca-Cola, but we have Monster, Rockstar, and Red Bull that pay the bills. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kawi team had discussions with Monster about AC not racing the last 5 rounds.

Why? Some teams/sponsors require a certain amount of bikes to be on track to fulfill their obligations. If it was an issue, they would've got someone to fill his spot for those 5 remaining rounds. That doesn't appear to the case. If Kawasaki feels like Eli is getting them the exposure needed in SX, so be it.

Would I like to see him out there for the last 5 rounds? Of course, but I understand that not everything is as simple as it seems.

Deny it all you want but healthy, able riders pulling out of a series early is worse for the sport than any Rutledge segment. Could you imagine NFL quarterbacks calling it a season as soon as they are eliminated from playoff contention?
That's because NFL players don't have a Spring season to play unlike moto athletes who have a grueling season of outdoors. What are you, new? Do you ride? Jeeeeeeezus.

Lmao.

Apparently it's disrespectful to their teams to come in healthy and fully prepared for outdoors and give them a chance at winning a championship, dunno what sort of logic this is.

I still can’t believe the kind of complete drunk ass hole web-monkey it takes to make a thread like this...

LOL at the notion of Zacho and AC, sitting obstinately near the track, arms crossed, refusing their SX setup, while their flustered team managers bemoan, "Man, I guess we have no choice but to test outdoor settings"

Ok obviously the original thread was neither tactful nor respectful to either rider and the OP could’ve eased up a bit but I must have missed what he did to violate vital rules and get clipped? So I definitely disagreed with him as most others obviously but I also disagree on shutting someone up because they have an unpopular opinion.

I agree with you. I think him using the F word in his post was not the best idea. Maybe he has owned a SX team in the past and nobody here knows that Smile

If OP wants to talk fraud, let's talk Shane McElrath faking an injury in order to be eligible for the 250 class an extra year. That's fraud.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why he did it, but he could have simply been honest. JMart was. Honestly, they just need to get rid of the pointing out rule, but that's another topic.

This is a sport where riding injured but finishing a season is frowned upon but one top three ride will guarantee you a two year contract.

Don’t blame the riders blame the sport

JTMoto has just been a douche bag since the day he joined...random put downs to users, snide comments etc without any real rhyme or reason.

Pretty sure the clipping has been on Guyb's to do list for a while and this thread triggered his "oh yeah been meaning to do a little house work" /click
