For sure that may not encourage the top 250 riders to move up. He will get there, top 10 top 15 seems reachable.

This is the opposite of what people rag on Martin and Davalos for. People go where the money is. He didn't have a good offer in the 250s but had one in the 450 class. Now we're asking why he didn't take a downgrade in a team to go ride a 250?

But yes, I did think he would be making all the mains.

I was wondering about him just the other day myself. Didn't he win the Straight Rhythm a couple years ago. Either him or McElrath. They were both flying that year. He almost looks like a mid-pack 250 class rider right now, and I had some high hopes for him.

Look at the names above him in the results. He's pretty much exactly where I expected him to be. He was usually an average 5th place guy in 250, so 15-25 in 450 sounds about right.

I think he will be decent outdoors, and he is learning his way there.

Looking at the east riders left racing he's probably regretting he didn't ride a 250 one more year, without DNF's he probably would be 3rd in points with a few podiums.

just by watching some races he did,
even when he did good starts, in the first turn he let the others passing by, and it's the case of other privateers.
Looks like a lack of motivation and possibly a bad setup with the suspensions.
Last year Breece and 722 was doing way better than this year.
it seems they have the same motor as last year, they only switch to showa suspensions instead of ohlins.
Two riders that don't go to the main, it's pretty embarrassing!

Re: Thorpe, it's about the riding style. Hartraft looks so stiff out there. Dave was unreal fast yes....but pretty doing it? Fuck no.

I was a little surprised a couple races back when he couldn't pass Adam Enticknap for the final transfer spot in the LCQ. I don't know what I expected from him, but I guess something more than that.

I wish KTM kept him, he had solid results and was improving. But I guess he had no offers, so he went to 450 class. He will get better, but may be limited by the bike

I struggle to believe that he had zero offers from 250 teams. Maybe not for the same money as he's on now but it might have been wiser to stay down on a low paid ride with some kind of an bonus structure and aim for a 2022 250 factory ride.

But it's easy to be smart in hindsight. I hope he turns it around during the season.

Tottally disagree about 722 . He has suprised the hell out of me this year . He is wayyyyyy faster than he has ever been . He has got into the main from the heat race a couple of times . Beating Aray etc . End of the day the class is stacked and does nt have many injuries. Rider s who won championship s are finishing in 15 th . Hartraft just is nt as good as them yet . He is still young. But the idea he is ment to be getting 10 - 12 place s i never saw happening this yr
