I didn't see anyone else killing it like him but he stopped midrace, maybe it was wearing on him.

That pic fully puts into perspective how gnarly it was. The vid angle looks like he is only 10-15 feet off the ground.

I will say though, they have vastly improved the camera work this year.

that's so sick, I'd get excited every time the camera was on him wondering if he was gonna pull it out, the first time I saw it I thought he took a different line then everyone else and jumped it different, but he just hit it so much faster that he flew over it, so sick!

That's why he won....he's got a little more under the hood.

He's gonna be tough to deal with the next 8 rounds.....

They did guess that it was 120+ at one point. They commented on it almost everytime he leaped it. No one else even thought about doing it, even the Honda guys that were right behind him for a while.

Is this a phot of the jump that Scotty posted on Youtube? Man, is he ever up there!

From this angle in the photo, it doesn't seem to bare any relation to the huge jump he was doing on TV.

When he jumped it that first time on TV, Bailey, RC and weege were like "WHOOOOAAA!!".....so it must have been a huge jump.

No, TV doesn't do most of these leaps justice.

That is the same jump as in the video. Short and everyone else doubled to the big mound, but Reed jumped over it and was landing on the flat in the far left of the photo.

Mike crashed playing around on the jump that Josh Grant crashed on, though it has changed as soon as Marc Peters arrived and went to work on the layout.

The stand the camera man is on is the sketchiest part of that shot IMO. He better not move around much with it scissored as high as it is.

Its not just the jump. If you stood on the opposite side of the lift, beside the lip you could see how he was getting over it. You could tell midway through the whoop section if he had it. It wasn't just sacking up and hitting it WFO, had to have the uphill whoops dialed to do it.

-He would manual the first few whoops then jump out of them. The key was getting a clean downside on the last whoop to get a drive at it. Others couldn't do it and jump the last whoop out into flat and kill their run up to the face.

-He was also doubling all of the downhill rollers were most got the first one and then just bounced the rest of the way through.

-The other place I seen him make time was just straight outbreaking everyone on the downhill right hander after the start.

-Pourcel was doing the uphill trip behind the start, foot out and to the inside like it wasn't shit. That guy is amazing to watch ride a motorcycle.

just to jump and double that mound looked like a challenge. a few people hit there back wheels on it and went down throughout the day. watching reed do that in person was unreal. video game stuff.

Believe it or not, it as MUCH crazier when it was just a tunnel with two sets of doubles further down, and Brian Swink and Mike Jones were launching from the tunnel over the first jump -- the takeoff jump -- until we tore it down.

I remember that Davey, If i remember correctly wasn't Charlie Dunaway jumping it that year too? Maybe it was just at a local or something, but i remember Charlie jumping something pretty crazy at the beginning of the Blvd one year.

If you have been watching ... Reed has been outjumping everyone at each round and making up time. I assume his SX technique is coming in handy.

Pourcel is a treat to watch. All the more impressive because of the terrible injury he went thru and how it must still be playing in the back of his mind. Imagine how he might be going if he was not being conservative out there ...
