RedMoto CREF450RX Special

Rode a this 400cc version last weekend on icy motocross track and RX’s softer suspension combined with Rekluse clutch and little less grunt was really good on those conditions Smile

Is the 400cc version an aftermarket design or OEM? I didn't know that was an option.
I think many would prefer a detuned 450.

It made by Honda’s Italian importer RedMoto. They have also 300cc version, but it is made from CRF250RX.

I currently ride a 19 350SXF. Great Vet bike. There are quite a few comments over the years on vital about the potential success if the big 4 would produce a 350-400cc platform. Curious if RedMoto imports many of their bikes to the US.

I opted to remove all blue. Did I succeed in keeping the factory clean look?

Yeah, it blows. Life's a bit different without it there. Been a part of my riding since day 1.

Thanks!

What do you weigh and what is your riding level? I am asking because I am curious what factory connection did for your suspension set up and what it cost as well.

Anyone in here can share their experiences with the suspension company they used to set up their bikes?

I just bought a works edition and am planning on getting the suspension done, was thinking about changing the springs to stiffer ones and running stock valving.

Sitting at 220 and B class level rider.

I hover around 175-178 during riding season. Mid pack B level. Factory connection left stock spring rates and revalved. I’ve gone two clicks in off there setting on compression and one click in on the rear and it feels pretty good so far. A lot of people have gone to stiffer springs front and rear. I haven’t gotten much time on it yet due to the weather we have gotten the last few weeks.

Any questions just shoot me a message. Happy to help if I can.

Were about the same size, probably close in skill. In my WE I went to a 6.0 rear and if I recall correctly 5.2 fronts. I set the sag to 106 and used Keefer's recommended clicker suggestions and so far, I really like it. I like a plush set up. Not to be confused with soft. I've actually ridden it indoors and the track had 3 decent jumps and one was a seat bounce right out of the corner to quad a section. I haven't bottomed once yet.

If I were to have anyone rework the valving, it will be SRS suspension in Ohio. They've done stuff for me in the past and it worked very well.

Sounds like a game plan to do springs only for now. I haven't seen any videos or anything on revalving. I wanna know what kind of internals the WE model has in comparison to the stock before I go swapping shit out.

All I know is the rear shock shaft is larger and coated. If you haven't ever done springs on your own, it's easy even if you're only a little mechanically inclined. The vital video made it easy. Just gotta spend a few bucks on proper tools.

That’s good to know. I also went with FC and weigh the same and same skill level and they kept my spring rates stock as well. I haven’t rode it yet with the revalve but was wondering if the springs would be ok after reading how soft the suspension feels on these bikes. I will say every bike they have done for me in the past has came out really good!

Im surprised they maintained the stock spring rating for you guys with everyone's complaints of it being far too soft.

I was as well and actually questioned that. FC said that those spring rates are within my weight limits.
