Then add in the shit camera work, following guys doing nothing while some chick blathers on and on and on, but there's actually a solid battle for the last LCQ position. It was a bad night for many. At least Ralph wasn't there to make it worse.

The man waving the flag is my uncle and he would be upset if he heard you say that. He’s upset about it, trust me, but the last time he flagged was during the old 15 lap format. He’s a local and they thought it would be nice to let him wave the checkers since they are in his hometown. He’s been retired for sometime now.

You ever been in a relationship, or a friendship, with someone, that over time you just realise, is dumb. Like not, not worldly. Dumb.

Surely FELD must think they can just run it themselves right?

Oh how sweet.
A professional event with money and championship points on the line and the AMA decides this will be a great idea.

Ask your uncle to go and apologize to the riders who were setting up a last lap pass for position.

How amateurish is this fucking sport anyway? These officials need to be held accountable.

Oh geez,

Who was planning this amazing last lap pass?

Please Name them so he can send them an apology and maybe a hooters gift card.

I'm guessing he wasn't counting laps and that he got it in his ears to wave the checkered flag. I thought the AMA/Feld had professionals running those races.

I’m a couple years out of the loop, but I think it’s about $45/year for membership.

On another note....in my local off-road series, some races will be AMA sanctioned and others not, all within the same season...I think there may be some insurance advantages for the promoters if the race is AMA sanctioned.

Wonder if AMA/Feld will put out a PR about all this?? Ok, I kid, I know we will never find out. Wonder if the journalist get black listed by AMA/Feld if they ask questions like they do with the riders...so guess that will leave them out also...

That’s an old local pro move. Rubber band a 20 bill, get the lead. At the finish ya toss, it to the flagger. To throw the checkers early. I get a few more 20,s in my envelope. Haha Classic

Yes, they mentioned it on the broadcast. I think when it was live it was hard not to. But I was so interested in Colt's comments of what he thought when he saw the checkers fly. He was totally and rightfully not expecting it. I was so disappointed when it seemed to me like Daniel Blair was stifled from asking about it in the post race interview. Honestly, as an ex racer, you don't think DB wasn't thinking, holy shit Colt. What did you think about the checkered flying early?

You are joking right?
The white flag lap is where everything has been happening!

How many results this year would have changed if they took out the last lap? I can think of 3 right now, I know roczen remembers one...

Thank you for understanding! Everyone on here has probably messed up at work one time or another. Just be glad your mistakes were not aired on live television to spare yourself the humiliation.

These race officials in the tower have an extremely difficult job. You wouldn't know it unless you lived it, but between the noise, communication on the headsets and all the other moving pieces to the race, mistakes are bound to happen from time to time.

I was there. There was not a battle on the track in the top 10 that would have been worried about a last tap pass or was waiting to make a last lap pass. You guys act like this is the first time this has ever happened. It is not.

Sure, Varize and Osby finished less then a second apart, no one has ever closed in 0.8 seconds on the last lap right? Whistling
