I was sitting very close to where it happened in the whoops. He was pointing to his leg. As soon as he moved after the fall he stopped and pointed furiously to his upper leg

Man, I really hope he’s not hurt to bad, I hate hearing this stuff. I don’t know him at all but I’ve seen him out at the track many times (mostly as I’m getting lapped and staying the hell out of his way), always seemed nice and I’ve never heard a bad story about him. Heal up Max, then come back and kill it next year!

Damn it! One of the biggest things I took from watching him this season is how measured and controlled he looks on the track. This sucks

Know a couple guys that have had this. It's super painful but if they can get it back in quickly sometimes recovery is pretty quick. He's young and likely flexible so hoping for the best.

KTM did this to him, they shouldve done something else for a rider. Bringing in him WAY too early as it shows. Kid was still an amateur a couple months ago and on a 125. He wasnt even winning a ton as an Am.
I like the kid as hes fun to watch and way faster than Ill ever dream to be.

No. Looking at his last name, I think he has people around him to help him make decisions. KTM did not ask him to do something he and his family thought he could not handle.

Sounds familiar besides the injury. For some reason a guy named Ryan comes to mind.

@Leeham - Pretty sure Max has won quite a few titles over the past several years so the comment about him not winning a ton is quite inaccurate.

@Slipdog - Max's KTM deal is for three years with year-one being a development year. No real expectations other than his own goals.

Additionally, he has a very smart team around him (KTM) and an even smarter team that has been with him since he was a kid (namely his uncle, father and grandfather, who I might add would not have allowed Max to move into this ride if they didn't think he was ready.)

Would either of you like to add any other misleading info about Max? (I think everyone here is hoping you do not.)

If he did this race 1, you might have a good point. But he has put in 3 solid races, ridden smart, and gained a TON of experience.

A rookie season is a rookie season weather you are 16 or 18. Do agree that it’s a little soon based on the 2 stroke upbringing though! He seems in control 90% of the time.

I popped my hip out in college and it was honestly a real easy one to recover from. Just got it popped back in and was on crutches for a while. It wasn't that bad. As soon as it happened I knew I was hurt but I knew it wasn't broken it didn't hurt bad enough. I've never had issues with it either and I did it like 15 years ago. Hope his is the same if that's it he'll be back for outdoors.

"Team rider Maximus Vohland was unable to line up for Saturday’s night program after suffering a practice crash earlier in the day. The rookie secured a strong seventh-place qualifying position in the 250SX East division before getting transported to the local hospital where doctors confirmed that he has sustained a dislocated hip. Fortunately for Vohland, the X-Ray showed no bone damage and doctors were able to perform a “closed reduction” to put his hip back in place, allowing him to be released from hospital on Saturday evening."
