I pulling for JG and JGR! Spencer Bloomer is a old friend and he does awesome R&D for the team. JG33 will win this weekend at Mt. Morris like he did in 2007.

I think Short may step up, or Reed takes it, but don't think Grant can make a whole series without crashing out at one point.

That would be cool, but the way this season has started and gone, I am gonna go out on a limb and say, how awesome would it be if a privater/semi privater took it at the end. I dont think we have seen the string of bad luck and injuries end for the top guys. The only one that has proven they can be consitent is cr22, and a good injury will surely slow even him down. IT9 would be great, but damm if I have not been thinking that since he moved up to the 450's. Somehow I cant help but think someone under the radar is going to "nut up", has nothing to lose and will take it at the end. Of corse i may be a little buzzed right now, but at this point I am rooting for a non factory rider, this is as good as chance as they will ever have.

All this talk about being consistent is a little ridiculous. The guy got 4 th in a series that traditionally eats people up with injuries. Grant is the real deal and has a great team behind him. People have no idea how great an organization JGR are building up!

yes.......its down to the top 4-5 guys now anything can and will happen.


reardon may even win a round......watch this space.

grant also has JS up his sleeve ..he could easily come out and take points back for josh at a couple of rounds.

Has the speed, but my money would be on Reed. I think Reed is slowly loosening up and starting to hang it out a little. ....

Grant probably has more pure speed right now than any of the three but historically he's the least consistent. Short has a little less speed than the other two but he's been very consistent over the last couple of years, and he has recent experience in the long season. Reed is a mixture of both and he has a points edge right now. All I know is this is going to be an exciting year.

You make several good points.

And a big question is what about Reed's illness? If they cannot get him feeling better he is going to have a tough time winning this Championship.

Grant can win motos like he's shown....but if he does what he did at Texas again, he won't be consistent enough for a title this year racing against Short and Reed.

Grant's not only fast but he has an Awesome riding style.

It might be a good thing for the sport. Maybe some other Nascar teams would take a look and get something started.

Nascar teams will be looking hard for ways to provide additional opportunities for their sponsors. SX/MX may be a viable,cost effective way to do so.

I dont think Grant will be as consistant as Reed and Short, but If Grant does win, then that means it will be the 3rd Alessi rival from amateur days to score a title before he does.

Agreed.

IMO, if Grant has something go just a little awry, he doesn't seem to be able to shake it off and go at it full speed the rest of the moto. Consistency hasn't come his way yet.

Of course, I hope I'm dead wrong as I'm really wanting him to win it! But if not him, then please let it be Shorty.

He's fast enough, but has a tendency to take a few too many soil samples. He's never shown the type of consistency it would take. If he can step up and do that I will be seriously impressed.

I really wouldn't want to bet against Reed. I don't think he's hit his stride yet.

Ridiculous?...maybe. The problem is that the riders that got 2nd and 3rd ahead of Grant in the series that traditionally eats people up with injuries are also contending for this championship with him. They can both also be considered the "real deal", and have great teams behind each of them as well.

The series definitely just got a whole lot more interesting...

Most defiantly. It would be GRATE for JGR and I think we are going to see some awesome racing between grant, reed and short some times IT. I would like to see JGR and grant do it because I think it would be good for the sport. But in all honesty I believe reed will pull it off.

Fourth in a series is what you get when you're really fast and inconsistent. Grant definitely has the speed, and he seems to have better focus this year in terms of not getting caught up in on track games with other riders, but he still has to prove he has the mental toughness to do it every moto.

In fairness, other than Reed, you can say a variation of the same thing about every other remaining 450 class contender.

Dont get to excited, Reed has had the fastest practice time at the first 3 rounds and hasnt won a race yet.

Especially not the first practice.

Hell yes!!!

By the way, it was a bike problem last week. Changed out motors after practice and had carb problems on the new one.

Grant will win some moto's but Chads consistency will win the title.

Like in Texas, Josh Grant was laying on the ground in both motos again today...could be the fastest rider out there but no consistency.
