Silly idea: V'tards should sponsor a top pros helmet

Edited Date/Time 12/11/2020 9:42am
Imagine if a guy who gets some camera time sold us some helmet real estate (that we crowd funded)- and voted on the sticker for that round.

The pro could get us$5-10k for a season and we could have fun things on there like: Screw you hammertime, hjacks.com or Devon Davis' pro scrub... or more serious like R.I.P TFS.

Food for thought. Would be good to sponsor someone who might get on the box

Maybye, sounds like a fun idea, but i'd probly enjoy it more if it was for possibly some dude who posts on here trying to make the night show / Maint Event / Qualify or score points in nationals, that really could get me interested

You really could make this fun, being we pull for the privateers hard anyways I agree it should be someone that’s around here some. 98% of people watching on TV would never notice. I ain’t good with them there logistics but I’m sure it could be done.

Justin Starling just started his own program. He will consistently make mains and might win an LCQ or two.

and how do y'all expect journalists to be objective if they have their logo on a rider's helmet?

Yes, but there’s an entire thread on it if you scroll down a little.

I say the guy with the most posting power should get their username on the helmet.

Maybe do what pro-ride did with Kevin Rookstool and Weston Peick. Pick a privateer paying his own way. Then everyone kicks in whatever $ they can (or wants). Then in return the rider posts his race recaps on the board and gives us kind of a behind the scenes look at his day/night/race etc. So we get to help a kid out, and also get some inside info/entertainment. Plus it was fun to root for a guy you're involved with helping, even if it's only 20 or 30 bucks.

I think the best bet would be to sponsor someone like AC, would get great exposure for sure. IDK the cost though, and question whether he would even be able to do something like that. Just guessing here, but at best you might be able to occupy 10-20% of his helmet.

this thread got some great things done:

https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/A-little-help-in-Sacrame…

Instead of putting a sticker on a pro's helmet, what if we used the collective ability of the forum to do great things like the above link? I'd much rather donate to an injured rider or under-privileged kid and change someone's life rather than chuckle cause of some snarky sticker we got on a wealthy rider's lid.
