How many pages does it take to decide who deserves to wear the most honored team captain hat?
It is a special hat right? Or do they get a "C" on their jersey because SX/MX is the same as hockey?

Interesting comment he made about Dungey, Honda and his possible comeback...

"Ryan Dungey had been talking about making a comeback, had that been discussed with you and did it come close?"

"Not really, I lost a little personal contact after he decided in an overnight move to go on with Honda. So from that moment there was not really a strong link or discussion about his future or a comeback so, I don’t know, I was not really involved in that discussion."

Sounds like RD5 may have upset/burnt a bridge at KTM.
Dungey mentioned in that recent coffee talk interview he did, that the writing was on the wall with KTM before he left. Somewhere in between is the truth.

If you look carefully, Roczen was second in MX2 world championship in 2010, and first in 2011. Very high level despite his young age... A true rival for his competitors. So was Herlings a few months later...
Musquin was 4 yrs older than roczen that yr in 2010. Thats a huge difference at those ages and roczen and herlings game came up alot in 2011. My point is that I wouldn't say musquin argument being that he beat herlings and roczen so he is above webb title in 2016.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying. If so, my apologies, but what world title does Cooper have?

To be honest, I wouldn't put much stock in anything that mccread writes as being an accurate statement of what the interviewee said.......

Why on earth is there an argument over who the perceived "team captain" is? Marv has been a great rider for them for 10+ years. He is on the tail end of his career and a phenomenal "B" guy to have. Cooper is the much younger guy that has established himself as a contender (and championship winner) in the class. Everyone pulling out the stat book and listing Marv's accomplishments in the GP's and thinks they are relevant today is missing the point. Those wins have zero bearing on how he is perceived as a contender today. They were great accomplishments for him at the time, but they mean nothing now.

I agree completely. No disrespect to Marvin the guy is a class act all around and an incredible rider at that, but if we’re debating who has had the better career it’s unquestionably Webb IMO. I assume Marv went to the US with the goal of becoming a premier class SX champion, and while he has certainly been close and should be proud of it, Cooper has actually accomplished that goal of winning it.

They both have had great careers so far, but if we have to pick one over the other I just don’t see how you can realistically say Musquins career has been better

I love Chad Reeds comment in why he never had Ktm factory opportunities. Said because he took Beirers ride in 250gp's and he beat him. Beirer sounds a little salty overall.

If I was asked today who had a better chance at being on the box and winning a title, I’d say Webb.

And I think a lot of others would too. I don’t see any reason why Marv would be team captain.

Wonder how Marv feels knowing that Cooper is considered theTeam Captain now

I am going to take a guess he also has no problem with all that pressure to be #1 on Coop and then he just prepares to take each weekend one by one. Add the fact it should put a little hunger in him to get back on top, but he strikes me as a guy who doesn't really care about that, he is KTM family. Been a long time since we chatted. Hope all is well.
All is well, how have you been?

Can’t complain. Back to the east coast. Did a little riding last year, then my 450 reminded me that im not in my 20s still and busted about every bone on the right side of my body. So yeah, probably better to just keep taking pictures of others riding lol.

That's what I was thinking. You guys are all mulling over who the team leader is with one 250 title and one SX title or the guy with 2 world titles. I'm over here thinking Beirer let his ego cost him a chance at putting an eight time champ, who never finished outside the top three in rankings, back under one if his three tents. .

Wait What?....mccread twist something or create an interview to cause controversy....never!...maybe it's just multiple interviews that he pieced together to appear like he did it.....

That would be silly of KTM. Dungey, with the assistance of DeCoster and Harrison, is the reason KTM is so prominent in the US today.
This. Dungey sold a pile of bikes and gained many orange fans.

Getting petty ain’t cool.
