He has the ability. The rest of the package just needs to be in place. Will it with TLD? Their results would suggest otherwise. Just seems like TLD is missing the mark on a few things that is holding them back. Is that final key JB? I don't know personally. Maybe they just need a better development rider. Time will tell but I'd like to see him reach that potential every race.

He has been in the 450 class since 2013. Coming up on 8 years. Hes been on honda, suzuki and yamaha. He has never won a championship in either series nor has he ever been a legitimate threat, meaning finishing real close to the winner of a championship. What makes you think all of a sudden he has the ability? He's had the opportunity to prove he has the ability on 3 different brands.

He is one of very few that still wins races in SX. When/if the headlines say “GasGas wins their first Supercross main event” the KTM group have exactly what they want in their first year. So with that they might have the perfect available rider. I for one am very much looking forward to seeing him on that bike.

On a side note, I hope someone will make a 250 2-stroke GasGas looking like a nineties Honda

Agreed, but it appears no one has been too successful on a JGR or Yamaha in recent years.

His 250 performance and championship and 450 class wins. No I don't think he has lived up to his potential in 450 and I think a lot of that is due to distraction and the wrong people around him. Do I see him winning a 450 championship now? I don't think so but there is still the potential, and also I never had Osbourne on that list either so thay shows anything can happen. I know it's a lot deeper competition now but the last 3 years the only competition was for 2nd and beyond.

I agree he can get a win here and there. I also don't blame GasGas one bit for signing him. Hes a great rider and is highly deserving of a factory ride. I guess I took some of the comments above as saying he has the ability to win a championship. Which I do not agree with. Hes always been a guy who can look unreal and win one moto then just hover around 10th the next. Champions don't typically do that. If they don't win the race they're usually on the podium or top 5 at worst.

If you didn't have Osborne pegged as a championship contender then I don't know what you've been looking at the last 4-5 years.

Are you saying that I’m the most ‘tarded Vitard!?!? The last place finisher at the special Olympics!?! The laziest government worker?!?

This is a proud moment for me..

But as far as JB51, and the effort he puts out, let’s talk about it again halfway through the SX season. I’m a fan of JB, he really is a guy who just loves to ride, but it sure looks like he rides harder and finishes better in the last 4 months of a contract than he does in the first..

The day he has a confirmed contract it’ll show in his results. Outside of the top 10, for the rest of the season is what I expect. Let’s watch and see..
I'm not name calling just saying I think that theory is way off the mark imho. You say you've been watching races for a long time...
I'm not name calling just saying I think that theory is way off the mark imho. You say you've been watching races for a long time, well so have I Smile Since the mid seventies as a matter of fact. I think you a have a confused an frustrated and even injured Barcia mixed up with an unmotivated Barcia. I think he will admit that he hasn't been the best at bike set-up at times and that yes in moments of frustration he has had lackluster results. I think you need to go back and examine when he has been hurt and match that up to some of his results over the years. Justin gives it everything he has damn near all of the time and if you can't see that that then maybe you are a viTARD or just a lowly troll. Wink
My sarcasm must not have been clear enough.. or you just can’t see reality though your fan status for JB, lol!

Anyway, it’ll be clear if I’m right in the next few weeks.. maybe I’ll be surprised!

I think Matthes said GasGas/TLD matched what he earned with Astars and Arai. And he will still wear Astars boots, and maybe neckbrace too?

I still find it funny that JB deleted every Yamaha picture off his Instagram. Welcome to the 21st century of face slapping haha.

It's about results. The factory bike helps the results which gets better sponsors.

It’s about exposure, how many people can a person reach. Just because you’re on a factory bike doesn’t mean you may or may not have a big following. It’s also doesn’t mean you’re going to get great results. Now, once you’re on a factory team, then yes it is about results to keep that ride and being like able by fans.

Do you think astar and arai may or may not drop him bc he doesn’t have a factory deal? They didn’t when he was riding that privateer Honda. Justin also posted a week or so back about reaching 700k, next 1m. If you think companies arent going after that over top 3 results sometimes you need to learn about the power of social media platforms. There is a reason why the rumor going around is the money has been matched.

The money matched wasn't by gear company and helmet brand. It was by factory racing teams. Yamhahahahaha and Gas Gas. If Astar and Arai wanted him so bad they would of help yamahahaha with the money for the contact knowing that if he left he would be wearing TLD.

Personal sponsorship doesn't mean shit if the FACTORY team says nope can't have that. More riders have had to give up personal sponsorship to be on Factory equipment.

When is the last time you heard a guy give up a factory contract over gear and helmets?

You don't hear guys complaining they can't win cause there gear and helmet.

When was the last time a bike won and didn't have factory parts on it?

I gotta say that JBs results for the end of the season stayed pretty good. Maybe the GasGas contract was getting held up, or maybe he just kept pushing til the injury?

The pig has been holding him back in Supercross. Barcia will impress on the new bike and he'll be flicking that thing in everyone's face when he gets in the groove. Can't wait to see his come back on the Gas Gas.
