I read this morning on Good, bad and ugly that TLD only has a spot for Branden Hartranft and may be letting Drake go. He is a great rider and they definitely need to hold onto this blazing fast kid. In my humble opinion Drake has natural riding abilities and has shown some amazing speed. If this kid had another year with the right person to help develop his race craft, I am certain he would be a podium contender every race and maybe even win Next year. I Would hate to see this talent fade away because he doesn’t have the equipment and people around him that could push him to a possible championship in the next couple years. I really hope a team takes advantage of TLD’s mistake and picks Derek up. PC has the machines and personal. JGR wouldn’t be as good but it’s factory equipment. Just my opinion of course. Good luck Drake! You have people out here that see you. Keep up the fight!

His results in the first five nationals: 12,12,11,11,12
He was fast in Qualy at Red Bud wasn't he?
Derek may be better off going a different direction. I love TLD, but that KTM 250 has never been known as being super competitive...
IMO Mason Gonzalez has been very impressive on a non factory bike and has earned a shot but where is he going to go?
At this point last year, I believe the team was expecting to have more than just two 250 spots for 2021. Changing times...
Pit Row
I am okay with them providing some support but full factory rides at the big races is overkill.
I will say this one of the elite amateurs gets $200K a year from their race bike brand to race their mini bikes plus has $50K to cover travel expenses, at least this was what I was told by his grandfather.
Now do all the teams do this, I don't know, but I thought that was absolutely crazy when he told me that.
Anyways put a cap on what the teams can spend on amateur "Factory" kids and eliminate the mod classes in mini's and I believe you would see more cream rise to the top. When mom and pop have to spend $3000 to have a mod 65 engine built after spending $6000 on the bike not including suspension $$ etc it eliminates a-lot of kids from being competitive. Make all classes thru 85cc limited only.
