Flew half way round the world for a once in my lifetime US SX. Snapped this at 2001 San Diego. The night RC began his SX domination over The King

No, cause if they did they had any idea, they would have spent whatever it took to retain him at the end of that season.

In my mind that super cramped bars in your lap set up started in the Honda years but obviously not. Wow

Maybe its just me but watching Tomac and guys racing SX just way more exciting than watching old slow bikes on sketchy track.

Slow? I'm assuming you've never tried to ride a 250 2 stroke fast..
I mean it's all a matter of opinion.. You are not wrong and I am not wrong
but you are closer to wrong than I am haha

Have to agree! I remember going to the dealers just to get the brochures when they were released every year. Bikes from mid 90 to mid 2000 were just badass!!!!!

I always feel lucky when I can take a pic of the big boys in action! Here's a couple I dug up from 2006 National on the REM section of Glen Helen.

Yeah, and if you're familiar with that section, the top of what is called "Mt Whitney," they are about to drop into an elevator-shaft down-hill! This was 06 I believe, when RC busted up his shoulder that day and had to sit out the MXDN’s. It's much easier to get decent shots when you have great subject matters!

And they were absolutely fucking hauling that day. I think that might be peak speed, ever.

I just remember hanging in the pits with RC, JM, TP hiding in their semis. I waited till the last minute when all the fans were gone Into the stadium and RC came out of the truck. When I took the photo he gave me the DIRTIEST look and his mechanic grinned at me.

That 2001 bike has always been my favorite. So many great races, still a huge fan of A3 2001.
