I have a complete hip replacement on my right side. 17 CRF450R elec start was a blessing!!! Shattered the top of my femur in 2004, had it fixed with a bunch of screws, back to riding/racing the day after the doc cleared me (6 months).

Fast forward 12 years, the misery was at a breaking point. I had a full replacement done. 5 weeks later I rode in the Oreana 100 desert race following my wife (was her first desert race) and finished the 62 mile B loop with ease. I felt better than I thought I would and haven't looked back since. Still riding racing all summer long at 41 years young. Fact is my new hip is more likely stronger than it ever was. Still hurts some though.

Broke my foot and ankle June 10th this summer. A lis franc injury to the foot. Broke the foot right off and crushed the bones to the outside of the foot. Had two of the plates removed and some of the screws two weeks ago. Wheelchair and crutches 3 months. Worst summer in my life so much pain, still has a lot of pain and can barely get through a work day. I dream about riding again but right now it doesnt feel like i’l be able to ride again. Just being able to walk like regular for a day would be so awsome right now. Motocross is so great and fun but it sure can put you through rough times.

I have this in my hip, been there for 13 years plus I have screws and plates in my left wrist and 2 screws in my right elbow. My elbow and wrist give me far more trouble than my hip but I can still ride no problem, but I walk like I'm 85 years old.

I’ve got a plate on my left clavicle and a plate on my left femur. The collar bone will give me trouble with most roost guards and neck braces are an absolute no go due to damaged nerves (3 breaks, on the second plate now). The leg doesn’t even give much problems though.

I have a plate, rod and a bunch of screws in my right tib/fib. It generally causes no problems in day to day life. When riding, I had a cheap pair of O'Neal boots that were fine pre-injury, but post injury, the screws on the inside of my ankle would be pressured by the boots, and that was very painful. Upgraded to Sidi boots and haven't had this pain since then.

The airport is the biggest issue, where it's a crapshoot as to whether or not the metal detector goes off.

I've had screw/plate in both a wrist and an ankle a long time ago. Got the one in my wrist removed a year after as it was bothering me, but they told me I should feel the ones in my ankle.... biggest mistake ever, as I'm getting older it bothers me more and more. I can't run anymore and being from the north east I can feel every temperature/humidity change coming. It's crackeling all the time.

Get the plates removed once healed
what he said. I had a plate and 6 screws in my ankle. Bothered me constantly. Had them removed and it feels back to normal. 8 months to a year is the time frame hardware should be removed. Any longer and it can become an issue removing them.

I used to. Broke my right collarbone twice and each time it required plate & screws. Ended up getting the hardware removed each time. The shoulder specialist told me to be very careful while the first place was in there since it was so close to a major artery in my neck. He said a hard enough fall could pinch that and I could bleed out internally very quickly. So after 6 months it was removed. Fast forward 6 years later and boom. Crash again breaking it. This time the hardware stayed in for a year before I had it removed. All in all for me it made it difficult to sleep on that side, seatbelts hurt, and it was very sensitive to cold weather since it was so close to the skin. Glad I had everything taken out because I can only imagine the pain of having it in there and crashing on that side again. Anyways hers some pictures

I shattered my left wrist in December of 2014 and had a plate and nine screws put in permanently, and have been back on a bike since September 2015. I don't race or do anything super gnarly, but I ride track and desert fairly often and have never once felt an issue in my wrist.

Plate and seven screws on my right clavicle. I never even notice it's there either.

I have a rod in my left femur and two plates with 13 screws in my left radius/ulna. I've been wanting to get the stuff from my arm removed because it bothers me quite a bit. I fell into a tree during an off road race last weekend and I felt the tree hit every one of the six screw heads in my ulna. Sick

Really curious about the recovery time after hardware removal. Also curious about the cost of surgery and post surgery strength.
Not too keen about going under the knife again..

screw in my left hip, three medical lag screws on my right hip, femur rod, screw in my right knee, tibia rod and fibula plate in my right leg, plate and screws in my left wrist.....shit happens when you love to ride dirt bikes.

Ride on brother and never look back or second guess your decision.

I was wondering if you could provide an update on recovery from the Lisfranc surgery and if you were ab;e to ride. It was been difficult to find success stories. My son is having it today and 2 days ago he had a rod in his Tibia. They are telling him he will never ride again and was wondering if this was true.

Not as gnarly as many, but I have a plate and 6 screws holding my fib together just above the ankle. No issues while riding. The only time it hurts is when it gets bumped lightly or brushed up against something.

Screws in my ankle for 15 years, only hurts when buckling a boot without thick socks. Feels like the screw heads want to poke through

I have had three open heart surgeries, and have an artificial aortic valve & artificial aorta. My chest is wired from my collar bone down to just above my belly button.

I had a screw in my ankle and also the external fixator for a while.

Had the screw removed when it started to back itself out.

I had lisfranc fracture of the first along with fractures to two, three and four. Plated first metatarsal pinned second and left 3 and four to heal. I have been riding for six years since.

I have had a plate and screws in my Forearm since 2004, Smashed up both bones, the wrist and my hand pretty good.

Ran a wrist brace for close to the first ten years, stopped running it one day and still all good.

i like to think Im like a factory bike with all the Titanium hardware hahaha

- 2 plates for the collar bone.
- plate in my right wrist.
- 4 plates on my heal bone
- 2 plates on my ankle.

I got compartment syndrome (same as Roczens injury) and the odd occasion i get pretty stiff or lock up,bit of swelling occurs through out my leg.
Bit of arm pump from nerve damage and then colder weather rattles me pretty bad.
but other then that.. its all fine.

Have 2 screws and a plate in my right foot. One of the screws is broken. Looks kinda cool in x-rays. I also have a full Ti knee and a couple screws there too.

Broke tib/fib and crushed the bottom of the tib almost 13yrs ago. (day before my 40th birthday) 2 plates and 18 screws. Still have all the hardware.

It still lets me know it's there a day or two a week.

Recently started riding again after a 6yr brake.

Mine’s just the typical minor shit. Nerve damage is the worst part.
