To be clear, you cant go out and buy a barrel of oil for -8.98. Those are May futures contracts which will shift to June tomorrow.

I went ahead and bought 100 XOM and 100 COP this morning.
That was the shortest amount of time I've ever held a stock. Sold! Smile

I don't think they will tank, I just am not comfortable with the uncertainty. I need to get a better understanding of how they are affected and then maybe I'll buy back. I can't imagine them going out of business. Pretty sure we're going to need oil for quite a long time yet. Smile

Guy at the gas station flat out refused to pay me to fill my truck with gas even after i showed him the oil price.... Unsure Silly Huh

Yes we are still going to need oil for a while yet. The problem for most of the US fracking industry is that they need $23 to $25 a barrel to break even. Marathon just shut down the local Refinery due to oversupply.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-22/jpmorgan-commercial-…

"JPMorgan Chase & Co. provided loans to virtually all of its commercial banking customers that sought financing through the small business relief program, while the lender’s smallest customers were almost entirely shut out, according to data disclosed by the bank."

Looks like all the big boys got all the small business loans, with nothing left for the actual small businesses. Big Shocker!

I set my sell at the same price I bought in at hoping to break even. Wouldn’t ya know it, the day it finally got back to $.25/share it went screaming almost $.10 over. I still say it’s a POS.

Damn it! I've definitely been there. Atleast you made your money back. I'm still in the hole because I bought some pre corona, but it was a good day.

Bought into NAT, should make some big $$ as long as these countries keep trying to bankrupt each others oil industries.

It's hard to predict what the stock will do after earnings regardless of good or bad news. I sure hope it goes to 1000 and beyond though.

My best positions are AMD, Abbvie, Roche and Pfizer. I have had them for awhile and wish I would of been more aggressive on that big dip but played is cautiously. They are all way up through this.
What do you guys think of American airlines as a deal at around $10?

Wasn't someone in here trading USO?

United States Oil Fund, LP (USO) has announced a 1-for-8 reverse split effective Wednesday, April 29, meaning shareholders will receive one share of (new) USO common stock for every eight shares they currently own. The stock price will increase to eight times its value at the April 28 close, so shareholder net positions at market open April 29 will be the same as before the split, plus or minus market movements. The deliverable on USO options contracts will be 12.5 shares instead of 100. We will adjust shareholder positions once the new shares are received, but this may be delayed by the size of this reorganization. For more information, please see our FAQ.

Everything is up. I should have stuck with XOM and COP, they've been climbing. I don't get it. Smile

Maybe it has a lot to do with the Fed propping up markets artificially so CEO's/companies can hit their market share/valuation targets. A certain CEO just demanded we open the country NOW because he stands to make 750 million (largest CEO comp ever) when his company hits it's 6 month average of 100 billion value. 🤔
