Looking at above, what do you think. Track for bikes is gnarlier for sure. I think track has a lot to do with it too... Quad dude on a bike is never sniffing SX. I think Brayton on a quad indoors is better than outdoors.

If you have been there In the ATV pits to see it the bike side could learn something from ATV side. The sport is 100% Family oriented with large teams All pitted in the same area . Years ago I was blown away at the 1st race I went to when the RRR team with 14 racers slid a huge hospital generator out the side of the rig for everyone to plug their toy haulers and RV’s into so they all had electric. They put on a huge family dinner With 50+ people attending.
I LOVED this family concept and was happy to be included.
The Phoenix Honda team is based here in Charlotte so I have been to the race shop and WOW amazing place and the team has been around for a very long time. Rod Mickelson was the team manager at Both Root River Racing in Wisconsin and Phoenix Racing ATV in Charlotte teams and his 2 sons have both been racers on both teams.
Most of the holier than thou bike guys that talk shit on quads probably wouldn't/couldn't ride one the way these racers do. I'm not talking joe blo or wheelie boy, im talking core racers like many of us here. So many people talk shit when they really have no idea other than the stigma attached to quads.
I owned a pro race Honda 450 at one point, mainly for my wife to race. I loved that thing. Full rage motor, fox floats, atv 4 play everything. It was amazing. Handles big hits better than my stock Honda 450 bike.
Supercross isn't really a fair shake. Outdoors, those quad guys barely have to slow down for corners. At least not like on a bike.
Back in the day, Tim Farr and I rode BIKES together a lot. I bet he was close to national speed at that time in history on a bike.
Aside from fast guys complaining that quads "mess up the track", they don't have a leg to stand on. Even at that, no shit the track shapes up differently.
For the record, I still poke fun at my quad buddies.. quad buddies are different than quadbillies..
If we're talking hammy vs mathes, hammy will smoke him on any given track. (If we're talking about the same hammy). Hell, I'm fat an out of shape and could probably still beat mathes.
The top top guys are athletes, but its a different sport and needs to be judged that way. Is Lewis Hamilton better than Marc Marquez? Laptimes say he is so it must be true right. Apples and Oranges
The answer is that it is way easier to reach the top in ATV MX compared to MX. That isn't a slight against the people that do ATV MX, it's just a simple numbers game. Just like it's way more difficult to reach the top of soccer compared to curling or pole vaulting.
Pit Row
It's simple, most guys hate quads because they mess the track up.
Also, why does the quad guy have the loudest fucking exhaust at the track...
As far as them wrecking a track, really my only issue is how they tend to blue groove up corners. When they're around i just smile and take it as a good training tool for line choice and riding rough tracks.
Overall MX guys can transfer to all sports so better than anyone can go the other way. “BMX is truly the foundation”
However I will say My lap times on my quad at Baja or other local Michigan/Ohio tracks was always faster than my lap times on my dirtbike. I 100% preferred the dirt bike, Loved the dirtbike, but I could bust out faster laps at D14 tracks on my quad same day same practice sessions.
