I dont think this is "cool" at all. theres a reason theres a lockdown in place. Just a bunch of dipshits thinking they are above the law to me. theres a time and a place to "stick it to the man" , but now is not one of them. its not much to ask for people to just stay inside for a month or 2.

Everybody just needs to stay home for a month or two, except for the farmers, meat packers, grocery store employees, fast food workers, wal mart employees, truck drivers, petroleum workers, utility workers, doctors, nurses, janitors, Fed Ex, UPS and Amazon workers, Police dept, fire dept, all retailers for online orders, convenience store employees....cuz we all need our stuff to stay home.
And don’t forget the military... we are out in the Red Zone without proper PPE... no worries guys the camouflage stops THE COVID!

Funny how everybody hates the wheelie boys, but this is cool.
Totally like stealing dirt bikes and riding them recklessly in the streets with no PPE. Idiot.

On one hand you have kids using a public skate park for its intended purpose. Not only that, but they were also cleaning and maintaining it so that people were less likely to get injured skating over the silt covered cement.

On the other hand you have a bunch of people on uninsured motorcycles, many of them stolen, terrorizing motorists out on the open roads.

I can see where you could get those two groups confused...Laughing
None of that matters to onlookers outside of the sport. I don’t care how you break it down, people like Connor give responsible motorcyclists a bad name while also encouraging morans and new comers to do similar immature acts.

UPDATE: In a twist of irony, locals have flocked to the San Clemente skatepark for some "sand and sun".
You see, the city has closed all the beaches because all of nobody got sick at the beach. Then, they filled the skatepark with sand because, again, all of nobody got sick at the skatepark. Oh, they also closed access to the open hills; where there is usually 1 person per 10 acres of open space (at peak use).
So, once again, WHEN FUN IS OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE FUN Grinning

This is absolutely the time to stick to the man. They have been sticking it to us for decades! When in your weak af mind, would be the right time? When we have no way of protecting ourselves? When only the gubbernment owns guns? When we all have no freedoms? When? Seriously? When TF IS THE RIGHT TIME?!

Just because he has a different view than yours?
To answer your question of when would it be the time to stick it to the man. Well I don’t know, but in my opinion it’s not at a time when 40,000 people have died In the last month due to a horrible pandemic that is continuing to kill a couple of thousand people a day.
But hey, that’s just me, maybe I am weak af too, or maybe your mind is “weak af” for not being able to consider other’s opinions.

Don’t jump down someone’s throat because they have a different view than you. Grow up

my train of thought? its the WORLDS train of thought, we have alot of stupid people in new zealand but even they are respecting the guide lines and our skate parks are empty. Its no wonder America is on track to having more cases than the world combined with attitudes like yours

Don’t lump all us Americans in with the Johnny Ringo’s of this country. We aren’t all that stupid.

There is no debating that there are geographic advantages that Aus and NZ enjoy.
But we are also closer to Asia.
Australia gets about 1.5m visitors from China a year, the US has about 3.5m
So per capita we are actually much higher.
The Melbourne to Sydney air route is the second busiest air route in the world. We aren’t the isolated little island we once were 60 years ago, for better or worse.

Yet, the deaths per million people is approximately 60 times higher in the US than both Aus and NZ

It’s not an attacking post, we just don’t understand why so many Americans don’t believe that the social distancing measures are worth it.
Clearly lots of Americans do, but lots don’t. And that is an interesting observation in my eyes.

Social distancing measures undoubtedly save lives in the hundreds of thousands. Seems like it’s worth it to me.

I'll add one more...... residential remodel contractor's. Because the people staying home want their house's put back together / repaired , so they can have a normal life! I could probably name a 100 more , but just thought I'd speak from what I've dealt with the past couple months.

I would argue recreation is essential. Even more so if it can be done in a way that distancing can be maintained. I would also argue, that it is the right of anyone willing, to continue use public recreation facilities like these, again, as long as distancing guidelines are being followed.

This thread could easily devolve into a "bro-science" pseudo-political debate, but I will say that, there is zero, non-anecdotal, evidence that this virus has any affect worse than the common cold, on otherwise healthy people. So maybe do everything we can to keep the at risk, at home, and safe, and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

I do agree that recreation is very important, and should be allowed when it is done without much physical interaction.

Evil, as for your comments about this being no worse than the common cold for healthy people.
Come on, look at the death rates in younger people. Whilst it’s nothing compared to the over 65s.
It is still way way higher than the common cold

Maybe our resistance to “social distancing” is because we see the blatant hypocrisy of the elected officials all across this country adhering to the “do as I say, not as I do” mantra. Mayor of Chicago shuts down all hair salons, gets caught at one a few days later. The government deeming small business flower shops, hardware stores, etc non essential but thousands can funnel into Home Depot and Walmart.
I’m outside along the road and in people’s’ front yards everyday running natural gas pipe and other than lighter traffic, nothing looks out of the ordinary. Give it another week or so and people will resist even more. I’m getting recorded constantly and people are really starting to wonder WTF is going on.

Nah, I’m just not a disrespectful, inconsiderate 14 year old anymore. There’s hardly anyplace to ride these days because of people like this guy and probably yourself. I have no desire to do such things. The skate park in my city doesn’t allow bicycles so you know what I don’t do? I don’t ride bicycles there. Pretty basic stuff here. PM me if you need some guidance.

Not cherry picking. These were just a couple states referenced in non-moto. Where are you seeing these higher deaths rates for younger population?

Ohio - https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/dashboards/key-met…

Washington - https://www.doh.wa.gov/emergencies/coronavirus

Anyone who gives up civil liberties for the false sense of security, deserves neither.

Plain and simple.

You advocate for the removal of freedom's so many have fought and died for. Then yes, you are a weak hive minded individual. Whatever happened to individual responsibility? Whatever happened to questioning authority? What happened to these things that made America the place on everyone's destination list?

It has nothing to do with, rather or not the guy thinks exactly like me, but everything to do with what is wrong with Americans this day and age. I've participated in getting skateparks built. Took years of crushing cans, washing cars, doing all kinds of fund raisers to get the money for the park. Then to have some politician douchebag, come and cover it up with sand, just because of the mass hysterical outbreak of something less deadly than the fkn flu? GTFOH with that BS!

News alert! The sky is NOT FALLING! And trying to destroy a nation over a possible loss of 1-2 million (original estimate) compared to what happens when communism and depression hits, 10s of millions would die. The math doesn't add up. This time last year we had over 80k deaths from the Flu alone!

Now, if you are really willing to give up everything you, your father, your father's father and generations prior, have worked to establish. Well that's just out right selfish greed, no matter which way you spin it. I for one will not let my homeland be demolished, because someone in a position of authority told me that a virus might kill a million people. We lose more than that annually every year.

Turn off the fear porn and live life. This is your only chance at this life. Why waste it living in fear?

Ps. Didn't bring up any politicians names or parties. That's on you folks. 😉

Don't give the reds an inch. They'll be carving Karl Marxs face onto mount rushmore before you know it.

fair enough, but I havent found any more recent data than that. I am sure there are more recent srudies, but I couldn't find any
Ted's data was only showing the ages of those that died, not the mortality rate.

What is your source? genuinly interested to read

and most news reports in my region quote the number of active cases.

I don't think that's a surprise, with many cases being asymptomatic, obviously so many are not getting tested.
but it doesnt change the fact that more people died this month from Covid, than died from the seasonal flu in 2019. and that is with the measures put in place.

I don't think it is reasonoble to argue that this is not considerably more deadly than the seasonal flu, just look at what is happening in morgues, and hospitals.

Just my opinion

Also Dang, in an earlier post you mentioned people making fun of America, I want to be very clear, I very much like America, have visited many times, and I feel like the US and Australia generally enjoys a very similar way of life, and most people enjoy similar pursuits in life.

However the approach from the general population on this particular issue seems different to that of my region.
and I find it interesting to discuss and try and understand how different groups see this issue. It's not making fun, it is from a place of genuine inerest and compassion for what this pandemic is doing to communities.

Well Sweden seems to have come out good with their anti lockdown experiment.

As for the American view of the government telling us what to do, we’ve learned from other countries failings. From Prohibition, prostitution, gambling, etc, if a politician says don’t do it, we do it more. Gun control is a perfect example. If there’s a whiff of new restrictions, we’ll go out and buy 2 million guns in the month of March. Our government would have been better off telling us to go outside and exercise and we would have sat at home and watched Tiger King even more because fuck the Man and that bitch Carole Baskins.
