The most dominant ride and fastest bike in history....

Edited Date/Time 4/11/2020 6:00pm
The goat and the yellow bike. Who was there to witness it? DV, can you please share your memories from that moto? You put together an amazing ride for 2nd overall. We know you got lapped but so did everyone else. Let's hear the story...how bad was it?

GuyB, you were there shooting it correct? This is your photo below of the hole shot?

Bikes are only as fast as the rider and Carmichael was the complete package, not always the fastest but he was smart. His race craft was absolutely amazing.

Will have to disagree. RV on a 250F layin the wood to the worlds best riders(250&450) at the Buds Creek 07’ MXON was the single most dominant ride ever.

Followed closely of course by Johnny O's 125 ride at the 1986 MXDN where he beat everyone besides his teammates Johnson and Bailey.

Factory KTM 250 in Europe is by far the fastest bike in that class. Dominant ride? All the kind of sand clinics Herlings did with it back in the days. Lapping up to 3rd place at a GP and winning allot of moto’s over a minute.

Don’t remember the details but I remember being blown away by JS7’s schooling at the 2014 Toronto SX. He was spot on that night hitting obstacles lap after lap that nobody was hitting.

Disagree. The weather played a big factor.

RC’s
02 MX dominant perfect season - 2t
03 MXON both motos 2t vs. factory 4t’s
04 MX dominant perfect season - 4t

Kids; Life Lesson tho - Sometimes, in your days on earth, you’ll win THE Big Ass race, and large lady in pink hat still gives you the sideways thumb. So, take that with you....

RC embarrassed all of us that day in Minnesota.

One other dominant ride for the nominees should be Tomac's Hangtown 2015 win. That's the fastest I have ever seen anyone go. He was going 5 seconds a lap faster than Dungey in second.

Does Everts performance at Foxhill in 98 Des Nations get some consideration here?

Magoos domination USGP, MX DES NAT, SUPERBIKERS. all in the same calendar year. How can you match that?

Was going to bring up that Tomac ride as well, it was simply bananas.

RC is the GOAT no doubt. Single most dominant ride though, ET3 2015 Hangtown on a dry track. He crossed the finish line 1’31” before Dungey and was 5.4sec faster on their fastest lap. 11 of Eli’s 15 timed laps in moto 2 were faster than Dungey’s fastest lap.

I have to agree. I was there in person. The entire place was abuzz about Tomac's speed. He was something else that year, until the crash.

I was there. It was great. Had DV’s muddy under-protector in my hand as he threw it from the podium when I got mobbed by the crowd and had it ripped from my hands. Some little guy even tried to steal my hat after it was knocked from my head.

I Remember a 1981 125cc USGP @ mid-Ohio.
Against world champions, Mark Barnett so outclassed the entire field that there were accusations he was cutting the course. A day of days for the Bomber.

It’s still unbelievable to me, with how many variables there are in professional MX that RC had not only one but TWO perfect seasons.

Not the most dominant ride ever, but one that always stood out to me was RV, Phoenix 2014. Packed field, everyone was healthy and he came back from around 10th or so to win. I feel like we don’t get a ton of rides like that in SX anymore

Stews 2014 Toronto win for sure was up there as well.

Tomac at Daytona this year was pretty damn impressive too.

I could be wrong, but I think RC also won every race outdoors in 2007 during his partial farewell season, correct? And nearly every moto

What about Stew's romp at Budds in 2003. Last to 1st. Amazingly he went from last to 10th in about six corners. I was there and beleive me he tore that place a brand new ass, along with the rest of the field.

I saw the very next national at Glen Helen and I have to agree. He whooped up on everyone there that day too, and I told my friends at home, "It's going to be a bad year if your last name isn't Tomac."

2002 SX and MX by Ricky Carmichael. I don't think that can be topped. That factory Honda was the fastest bike on the track, it won 13 out of 16 supercross races that year and 24 straight motos.
