I tried to keep the porta-john shots to a minimum this year.
Glen Helen was, again, epic. While it was warmer than last year, it wasn't as hot as I've seen it. Racing was awesome. For the first race out of the bag in '09, MX Sports and all involved did a good job, as far as I could tell.
The 1st practice of the day was the two-strokes. Doug Dubach catches big air on the soon-to-be-modified Monster Triple:

After a few 450 riders had some close brushes with the over-track sign on the triple landing, an impromptu meeting was held:

Rather than move the sign, they chopped down the take-off.
Big air was still to be had on the triple step-up (most doubled). I'm not sure if Josh Grant had a bet with someone again like he did at Red Bud but he busted it out on his first practice lap:

Andrew Short and RV2 did it sporadically throughout the day:

After the 1st practices, I cruised through the pits. Chad and Ellie prepare for session 2:

Christophe Pourcel looked like he had the field covered in moto 1. Not sure what happened in moto 2. This guy is an incredible rider:

Jake Weimer:

I think DB and The Weeg are in this shot somewhere:

Back to the track. RRsis' brother:

MA800 looked good and I thought he had checked out in moto 2. RV closed a 12-14 second gap in the closing laps to reel him in to sweep both motos.

Byrner launches down an extremely high-speed section. It would have been cool to have a radar gun in this area.....scary-fast.

Grant, Villopto and Reed battle early on:

Early 250 moto 1 action:

The Geico Honda boys got out front early in moto 1. Barcia was very impressive. Man! Does he twist it!

Dungey:

Canard:

Dungey stalks the Hondas:

Barcia got out front again in moto 2. Dungey spent several laps chasing him down. Good racing here!

Dungey juuust a touch out of shape. He sealed the deal shortly after this:

You just can't beat outdoor motocross. I really like the racing on Saturday. It sure is nice to be home on Sunday.

I wish I had x-ray glasses so I could read the numbers

There's something about this one that I like...
As for the small numbers, I could see how if you weren't on the fence, they would be hard to see. The PC bikes were strange because they had small numbers then a dark silver PC logo on a black background. I really had to look hard to see what the logo was.
Obviously not designed by DeCal Works.
Thanks all and good to see you, too, GuyB.
Those are the first pictures I've seen of GH that really show the increadiable elevation changes in a first person eye.
Thanks.
Thanks for posting.

I checked the results and thought I saw you listed with a 15, 15 ? I had a friend who raced and he actually wasn't thrilled with the layout? Said it didn't flow well? Not totally sure what he meant as the track looked killer to me. And I heard they let you ride the complete front section ... hills and all.
After some brews I was talked into racing on Friday too in the 40 Int class and ended up 15th out of 25. The track was freaken like a war zone as we were lucky moto 11.
What class did you're buddy race, how did he do? I liked the track more on Thursday but it was still a blast--both days.
