F1 - Drive to Survive on Netflix. Both seasons are awesome. And incredible to see the technology, driver, and behind the scenes that go on to do what they do. It was fascinating.

Some absolutely amazing camera work throughout the series.

The one with the lizards running the snake gauntlet was just unreal.

I like to think maybe the camera operators were whispering "go lizard, GO!" To themselves

The giraffes fighting was pretty crazy too

Ok, I'll admit it, watched the Betty White documentary on Netflix Saturday (about the time SX would be on.) Laughing

Amazing career and the Snickers/Superbowl commercial was as funny as it's ever been.

I had a deep appreciation for the Blue Planet series as well.

A few of my favorites:

Wormwood - Netflix: Oscar-winning filmmaker Errol Morris examines the 1953 death of scientist and CIA employee Frank Olson in this docudrama. Olson fell from the window of his New York City hotel room and the death was originally ruled a suicide, but a 1975 report tied his death to a top-secret experiment

Talhotblond - Netflix: This is the true story of a love triangle that takes place entirely online. Lies lead to murder in real life, as a teenage vixen (screen name 'talhotblond') lures men into her web. Revealing a shocking true crime story that shows the Internet's power to unleash our most dangerous fantasies

All This Mayhem - Amazon: is a searing account of what happens when raw talent and extreme personalities collide. In this unflinching, never-before-seen account of drugs and the dark side of professional skateboarding, brothers Tas and Ben Pappas' intense bond and charisma take them from the pinnacle of their sport into a spiraling world of self-destruction

The Jinx - HBO: Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki examines the complicated life of reclusive real estate icon Robert Durst, the key suspect in a series of unsolved crimes

Unchained - Great moto doc. You already know about it, watch it.

Senna - Ayrton Senna's story. Great watch, even if you are not a race fan or anything, let alone a F1 fan.

citizenfour - Edward Snowden's story, this is shot as he is in hiding and whistleblowing to the reporter who broke the story.

Azorian: The Raising of the K-129 - It's the Cold War, a Russian nuclear sub sinks in way deep pacific ocean. Russians can't find it, the US knows where it is and attempts to recover it without anyone knowing. Amazing feat of secrecy and engineering.

Shackletons Frozen Hell - Crazy survival story about the first Antarctic expedition that goes terribly wrong.

The Vietnam War - Ken Burn documentary (he has a lot of good ones) on the war. Worth a watch, even if just for the first episode about the history colonialism in Vietnam.

I got a shit ton more I could throw out, kinda depends what stuff you're into. Easily my favorite film genre.

I'll 2nd the Jinx, its brilliant bit of film making.

I recomend Last Breath on netflix, true account of a deep sea diver stranded on the bottom of the sea with 5 minutes of oxygen left.

Not a documentary, but Snowden's interview on Joe Rogan's podcast will bow your hair back.

If you like military documentaries, check out Restrepo.

Don't know if anybody mentioned "Making a murderer". It's a bit old but the case is still going on.

I always liked Children of a Metal God, by Gregg Godfrey. It's a little dated but still fun. Definitely not Meryl Streep.

FWIW I didn’t care for F1, or car racing in general, but that F1 series on Netflix is a great watch. It’s insane the tech they have in everything about F1. What it takes to run one of those cars is asinine. I can’t wait for the next season.

As far as racing docs go, Williams, The 24 Hour War and Senna are among the best.

I want to add, if you’re not into F1, it makes this series a little better in my opinion as you’re unaware of what happens in the season they record the series in.

"The Vietnam War" by Ken Burns is really good. Sad, frustrating, maddening, but good. If you're like me and were unclear about the events surrounding Vietnam, more specifically, the political motivations driving the war, this is enlightening.
