Does anyone know what older model forks will fit. I’m trying to get a second set of suspension for the woods and one set for the track. The reason I’m asking is because I can’t find a set of oem forks for a reasonable price.

Any kx450f forks will fit but the axle will be smaller. So you would need an older wheel as well. The newer forks are also 5mm shorter so you have to keep that in mind when you set the fork height.

How are you liking the kxf 450 forks?
Anybody has ever compared them to the kyb sss that yamaha uses?
After I put a stiffer spring in mine I felt like they were similar to the sss forks I’ve ridden in the fact that I had good bottoming resistance and the forks were Still plush. I’m 195-200 and a C rider. And they’ve been decent in the woods with just softer springs. I believe I just need to ride a rough track and set them up.

I don't see why anyone would want to replace the stockers unless you want a kit or a woods set like he wanted.

Just curious on how well/bad they are working..
I have KYB SSS on my YZ250 smoker and the Kawi forks are better stock (with oil added) than my revalved SSS, except on really bad G-outs or OJ'ing a big ass jump to flat.

I added 20cc of oil and one stiff spring and I still get those same issues with g-outs and OJ's. Like it just doesnt have enough dampening for the biggest hits.

Hey to anyone rebuilding their suspension, you can use all the Honda parts except for the shock bladder. The Honda parts are far cheaper.

Mine hasn’t been ridden since October probably (sad face) and still starts right up. If I had a garage like normal people down the hall I’d buy a tender though Smile . There is one out there that has been talked about it this thread.

The manual says to disconnect the battery if you're not going to use for 2 weeks or more. I've had it sit longer and it's been fine.

I have both bikes. 2019 Kawi and the 2020 Yamaha. The Kawi is better for aggressive riding. The forks are great. The Yamaha is good but the kawi (once set up) is better imo.

Absolutely. It can sit for awhile with no issues. Mine sat for 3 months last year and it started right up

This is the one Kawi specs, I have one and I leave it hooked to my bike pretty much constantly.

This is the same one I have as well. I routed the connector so it tucks up right under the plastics in front of the air box. Just pop it out and plug it in, never have to take the seat off to charge.

Since the starter motor housing is built into the ignition cover on the 19+ I can't imagine how much its gonna cost. I think the older ones PC and Applied made were 400, gotta be a good bit more than that. I'm just cerakoting mine right now rather than dropping that much coin into a cnc'd one. They do look killer though.

Anyone got a cure for the pain in the ass air filter?
It’s just not very well thought out!

As far as caps go works connection has the best I’ve seen. I think they will even engrave your number in them if you want. For the carbon protection I think asterisk makes them, but not sure if they are available to the public.

I use maxima premium 4 and and change it every 2-3 hours. As far as coolant goes I went from maxima to engine ice and IMO the engine ice is better. Also maxima sc1 will change your life.
