Looks just like today. It would just be ridden different with the bikes of today. Also the coverage is the same, missing all the good passing going on.

I was just watching a race from 2012 today and that track was. GNARLY. Los Angeles I believe. I just haven’t seen a track similar to that in awhile.

A track like this today? The teams could save a lot of money not needing A-kit or works suspension. Every rider today could bolt on stock suspension and probably wouldn't even need to touch the valving or any internals.

That track looks like something you'd see at chicken licks county fairground

I can imagine the reaction of the current crop of riders if they had to ride that track. They wouldn't be happy.

On the other hand, it'd probably be just as spectacular if they had to ride those old bikes (with their suspension and frame geometry) on a modern track.

I'm not sure which would be more entertaining. But neither would be particularly safe.

Say fellas, the other day I just happen to catch 2009 Indy and that was the year that past riders got to design some of the tracks. The ‘09 Indy track was done by Larocco. Check that race out, the track was awesome.

So Ralph has been doing the announcing sense the 80s. And still sucks at it?

What’s really funny is we had to go pickup a copy of cyclenews from the dealership on Thursday to see the results from last Saturday’s super cross.. and if you was lucky you could watch a 30 sec clip on motoworld Friday night...

That's what you got out of that video clip? Ralph's announcing?

Sorry, that was Larry Huffman.

Great Race. I love seeing Hannah push to get it done, then sitting in a folding lawn chair and his chest heaving he's so spent. They interview rider's today and they just don't seem that tired. Pits IN the Stadium is awesome. 1st straight takes out Ward and O'mara endo's. Not such an easy track, just a few jumps and the bikes stayed on the ground.

It would be awesome to see KR94 put some laps on a modern track with those Works Bikes. I don't think it would be as bad as you think, probably a few seconds slower. Enjoyed and miss Huffman's announcing.

That was fun.

This was literally identical to a track I raced at Lawrenceburg fair in Tennessee. Talk about the sketchiest shit I have ever seen. The weird part was they had a jumbo screen set up and a camera set up that was fairly high that followed the racing pretty good, PACKED out stands but a sketchy death track.

I want that huge Miller High Life bottle behind the start.

I think all the 2019 tracks were designed by riders, JT was talking about it on a podcast lately, he said they were some of the best tracks. I wish they would do it again!

Best track ever built hands down in my opinion: 2009 St Louis SX--Travis Pastrana design. I'm not sure what riders on 2020 equipment would be doing differently on it. I know more riders would be doubling over the dragon's back now then were in '09 .

Great track for sure, very technical and much slower than the high speed tracks that seem to be the norm now.

I think the track would be incredible to ride but I think the zigging and Zagging and split sections really made it one lines and tight.

But some things to take from it 100%
- the rhythm section flow, steep technical, jumpy and not crazy fast
- the interesting use of the over under, almost as a step up to Off, it’s much more interesting that his it’s used today
- crossing the start line corners with verticals berms. Do up 3 or 4 rock hard verticals lines when building the track and prepping for the night show. The slingshot they get out of them was awesome.
- Dragon back up and down.

It was definitely one of the coolest tracks

Seems like the "Industry Experts" did not like Daytona this year, or last year. Its really confusing to hear the same person say they want changes, and then complain about Daytona or Tampa. I find those two race to be a much needed change from the other 15 cookie cutter SX tracks. Lets be honest, the rest are all virtually identical to the average spectator, just a bunch of rythm sections with 1-2 woop sections and a finish line with flame throwers. Its just like watching rabbits hop around a circuit if you do not know better. Only the rider gets to experience the uniqueness of each stadiums dirt, and how it breaks down, or the transitions. As spectators, they all look pretty much the same.

Daytona has remained very much like old SX and what you saw in March is pretty much what you saw on these old videos.

Today is 2020, we have a much deeper field of well trained riders and vastly superior bikes. Daytona still felt like the 80's.

More diverse tracks in SX would be great imho.
