It's just a matter of putting puzzle pieces together

If Disney and cruise ships can come back online in a few weeks, then so can racing, even without spectators

So then, where?
Nothing going on at Sam Boyd, this race was it's swan song.....so a few days or weeks to run a few events?

It'd be a money saver for everyone, no trucks to drive all over and shit to pack and unpack

and everyone HAS TO HAVE THE RACES RUN, or they don't get paid, including Feld

Cancelling isn't a financial option, for anyone

For the record, I’m completely fine if they only get in the last two rounds as opposed to no more at all. I don’t care about double headers. IF they wanted to squeeze in 3 more rounds and do a double header finally on Friday night AND Saturday night, cool.

I posted this in another thread.

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM Team made an Instagram post earlier today but have now replaced it.

The original post said Indy, Detroit, Seattle, Denver, and Foxborough were cancelled. Vegas and SLC are still happening.

Double header weekends starting March 28th.

Mid-week rounds in Vegas as well.

No fans in the stands.

They could've replaced it because it wasn't supposed to be posted or because it's still not 100% that it's happening. Remains to be seen. That said Vegas and SLC aren't mentioned in the article.
That would be wild if they held ~7 events over the course of 4-5 weeks.

How much riding/intensity do these guys have for races compared to their weekly practices? In other words - would it be overly exhausting for them to do so much racing in a short time, or are they already conditioned for it?

RMATVMC knows something we don’t. March 28th was supposed to be Seattle which was the first one cancelled. So what’s the plan now?

Good, now the wife can bug me to paint the house instead of me watching the SX.
LOL. Watch replays of the previous races. She won't know the difference, will she?

I really don’t think this is going to be a few week problem. I kinda doubt there will be anymore supercross races this year.

I hope I’m wrong but I’m mentally preparing myself that this is going to be a few month deal. Going to be bigger problems to deal with then some races and sporting events being cancelled.

When I called Feld just before the press release came out, they said that Vegas wanted to entertain multiple events there (maybe double headers). I wouldn't doubt that they will work it in after the logistics are worked out.

Forget a live TV broadcast for a minute, assuming (exaggerate assuming) running races and stacking points toward a championship is the priority given the circumstances. An edited broadcast can be used. No fans in venues.

2 x points paying mains events in 1 night at 1 venue, change some sections of the track (not total rebuild) overnight and repeat on Sunday (or even Monday).

Saturday practice and quali as normal, slightly shorter heats and LCQ, maybe even semis to try and ensure the best 22 make it in. Then 2 x 15 minute + 1 mains, say an hour or so apart, similar to the outdoors, with ample time given for rider recocery and track crew to clean up the track. Main 1 results determine main 2 gate pick. (No triple crown fomat).

Day 2 schedule, top say... 16? From day 1 qualify straight in to the mains, separate LCQ on day 2 for the remaining 6 spots.

Practice, 1 x qualifier for gate pick, LCQ for remaining 6 spots, 2 x 15 +1 mains.

4 x points paying mains in 2 days at the same venue, either 1 or 2 days apart. About as fair as it can get given the situation. Longer overall schedule for rider recovery, hence a delayed telecast suggested.

So, there is no champion at this time, right? Postponed means put off to be made up later, correct?

Ok that’s surprising they cancelled that far into April. Figured they would play it by ear a little. Man this shit sucks so bad. Just messing everything up.
It’s scary how quick our way of life gets affected and food and supplies fly off shelves.
Could you imagine if we ever get hit with a way worse virus?
This is a wake up call how close we are to world collapse.

Correct

No one is yet champion, postponed does not mean cancelled

This funkin blows. Supercross is the only sport I actually watch. It's one of the very few things I look forward to during the winter months

I agree, very sad weekends to come. Weekends were usually packed with SX > short sleep > mxgp/motogp/maybe F1 and I love every minute of watching motor sports.
This still feels kinda surreal.

I would be highly surprised if they find a way to make up any of these events. We always hear (and saw evidence in the 2020 early schedule) how difficult it is to plan around the stadiums for this series. Perhaps multiple "rounds" in some venue once they are back and running could be a possibility i.e; a points scoring main on Friday and Saturday could happen.

At this point I am just hoping this doesnt spill into the outdoors and affect that series.

No shit, watching Atlanta now. She commented she couldn't believe it wasn't cancelled. Can't lie if you act like you don't hear her.

Disney, cruises, et al will not “coming back online” in a just a few weeks.

They may be recipients of the astronomical levels of fiscal stimulus that will be released to keep affected businesses solvent.

Powersports and other industries like it that are ultimately non-essential face severe short and long term challenges.

SX 2020 is done, over.

Husband: What's that, Honey? (slightly increases the TV volume as he's saying it) I couldn't hear you over the TV.

Wife: Nevermind

Husband: Okay.
