I don't watch the races until the next day or two, and only go by the live timing on my phone.

If you’re gonna watch live timing on your phone why not watch the race on your phone with gold app?

Roczen took the pass for the lead when the whoops were still monsters. Then they rolled them after his heat.
Pinch It’s amazing how we all watch the same broadcast and yet people see things so differently and apparently wrong

Why? Because he’s the only US rider faster than your hero, Roczen?

I'm actually just as impressed with Ken's ride. Eli clearly had a little more speed, but the last few laps Ken actually made up time and was a second faster than Eli, and even more over the rest of the field. I think he was too focused on trying to minimize mistakes and not override the track while in the lead, that he fell off the pace. Too bad he had that little tipover because I think they would've battled right to the line, and that would've been amazing to see.

They're both at the point in the season where they know they need to win and I think we're in for a fun next few weekends as they both try to establish any sort of comfortable points lead

No way i thought tomac would catch ken. Good race!
I thought there was no way he wouldn't. When ET was MATCHING KRoc's lap times while dicing for positions, you knew what would happen as soon as he got a clear track. Tracks like this are perfect for Eli. He is just a better athlete. ET has the physiology to just rider harder. He bashes jump faces, he over jumps, he pins it, he just riders HARDER than anyone else can. I think there are number of riders who are better RIDERS than Eli. They have more refined and more consistent skills. They just can't hammer like Eli does.

Not sure what lap but probably the last 3 or 4. Eli gets cross rutted on the face of a jump and pins it and corrects it in the air. Not many guys land that on 2 wheels. Kenny and Eli are on a level above the rest of the riders right now

Was thinking about the Webb fan who said he hoped ET3 and KR94 have bad results so Webb can win the title . . . I want to see the rider who wins the most and is most consistent get the title

For the biggest part of the race, I thought for sure that Tomac was gonna have to settle for 3rd. I didn't think there was any way in hell he could get around Webb and then run Roczen down with so little time left. Once he got into 2nd, he put on a speed clinic. Incredible. I was also surprised to see Roczen close in on Tomac so late in the race like that. Roczen has got his fitness issues fixed it looks like. The effort by the top 3 was something else.
Tomac's raw speed when he gets in the open and on a mission to run somebody down is mind bending. He looks like he's gonna break that Kawasaki in half. The dude sends it like no one I've ever seen.

Roczen should be happy with his ride. If he does what he did last night consistently for the rest of the season he’ll have a very good chance of being champion at the end of the season. Tomac has shown that he has the ability to pull off rides like this for a number of years, so when he does, you just have to hold your hands up and do the best you can, which is what Kenny did. Tomac will always give you a chance. He’s been the fastest guy 3 years in a row now and not won the title.

There isn't another person on the planet that beats Eli on that track tonight.

Kenny did very good, and I bet this is exactly what he thought is worst case scenario.

True, but what if Roczen adapts quicker to the better inside lines? He was probably losing .5 per lap for multiple laps until Tomac caught him and he swiched it up.
I wonder if the mechanic wrote on the pitboard about line selection at all, probably not which is a miss on the teams part.

But Tomac was on a whole other level so it might not have helped. But it think it would've been much closer.

The problem with being 6+ seconds up on a track like Daytoner is you only see how your line changes, not how the fast line changes. By the time Kenny figured it out he was 3 corners short.

Still, I can only say thank you to Kenny, Eli, Cooper, and Anderson for making that a great race.

Easy to say in hindsight, but the lines he was using were good enough for him to pull a pretty comfortable gap in the first place. When you’re on your own like that it’s hard to know how good your lines are I suppose. Like you said, that’s where the pit board should come in but it’s not always easy to get over that information clearly

The lap board was showing his laps vs tomacs- He was dropping his own times but so was ET3.
Not much you can do in that situation- Mentally it would be extremely difficult having the shark closing in. KR must of been thinking “NOT AGAIN!!”

Ken had a couple of bad laps throughout the race, but at least he didn't drop anchor. His last lap was really good

There shouldn't anyone doubt that this wasn't kenny settling too early. It was tomac in beast mode. And faster than everyone. Congrats and well deserved

I think it's more of Eli backing it down just enough to win. He's gotten much better at understanding that winning by 1 second is the same as winning by 30 seconds. It's taken a bit, but he has finally figured out what JS7 never could.

The rest of the season still comes down to this...Roczen's great starts compared to Eli's bad starts.

Eli is clearly faster but won't win the title if he keeps getting 8-15th place starts. Too many bad things happen to you like last weekend when he went down trying to pass slower riders while Kenny was cruising out front in clear air.

If history repeats itself, Eli will get enough really bad starts the rest of the way for KR to win the title.

It’s hard to side with that prediction... Tomac has had great and terrible starts this season and currently has the red plate. Roczen has had more great starts than not and is 2nd in points. I don’t think Roczen will win this because he is a better starter.. it’s going to come down to the finale most likely.
