Great to see Marty stay off the ground and show us some of his true potential. I really wish he moved up sooner, I was hoping he was going to after he got on the podium during the 450 Nationals a few seasons back. Do you think it's far too late due to his age to make any kind of mark on the big bikes to keep getting quality rides and keep progressing or is this going to be a high water mark for him?

He's older then Tomac, Ken, AC, Webb, AF, Dungey, Baggett, Sexton, Rock Johnson,...... No chance he is in the top 5 for a title before he retires

I do think he has thwarted his career progression by staying on 250s too long.
But I'm sure he actually made more in his career by staying where people paid him to ride. It is a bummer he couldn't find a ride after his factory Husky stint.

I was sure hoping for a podium for the dude. Sooooo close! Great ride regardless although I'm sure he is a little gutted.

I think the last 5 laps answered your question last night.

Talk about a missed opportunity for Marty!

The mental edge the top guys have over everyone else in this sport still astounds me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Davalos never gets that close to a podium again, though I hope he does. You have to capitalize on opportunities like that.

I really wanted to see Marty or one of the MCR guys get on the box. I like to see these underdog teams get some success.

Watched that script play out numerous times before. One might even declare last 3 laps are his Achilles Heel.

I was pumped for him, I really wanted him to get on the box.
I just wish they would stop calling him a rookie. I don't care if it's his first full season on a 450, it just doesn't sound right.

The Rock is juiced to the gills. I dont think they allow a TUE for HGH and other steroid hormones.

Good ride for Davalos. Watching his post race interview I can see why he's not doing better. The guy doesn't seem to have any confidence in himself. He's got tons and tons of talent but appears to be convinced he's a guy that can just break the top ten. I'm not knocking this attitude. It has to be so hard to believe you can win a race at that level.

Never to late! I just don’t think he’ll be a top podium
guy consistently but he will be a top 10 guy atleast for a couple years

He also hasn't burnt bridges. It was cool to see Scuba and Dave Feeney from Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna checking in with him during practice.
