Side note / question.......what happens when those winds ( if ) they come back with the guys out on the track? How fast were those winds , to knock the towers over?
Not letting people near the track at the moment is the only sensible thing to do.
For those that say this is the reason Matterley shouldn't have been scheduled early in the year, these windy conditions are freakish. Besides, whatever happened to the 'iron men of motocross' attitude? If people want perfect conditions every event then I would suggest golf or maybe beach volleyball.
We had plenty of early-season races in the past, but those in charge chose to run them at all-weather circuits, which Matterley isn’t.
That’s said, I love a good mud race. It makes it far more interesting. It’s not just a jumping procession with little passing. It’s a test of skill, endurance, line choice and race craft. It sorts the men out from the boys. It plays into the hands of the more versatile riders and can often throw up different - and unexpected - results.
And it’s the same for everyone.
I’m more excited to go watch tomorrow than if it were dry. Wear the right clothing and it’s all good.
Is putting hamburger availability above public safety a joke or are you being serious?
Looks like its going to be alright though tbf, worst of the rain over and the sun is out.
Pit Row
Damn.
What a bike..
Yet, pictures above, show graded dirt / mud.
So, is it a mixture of track preps, or, am I just a blind old Bear?
Looks like Hawkstone was a good pre-GP outing, what with all of the wetness.
No MXGP / MX Qualifying Motos, but, they are showing the Free Practice / Timed Practice, Live!
Hell, I'd love that to be the permanent way of doing things, together with affordable entry fees and, subsequently, higher entry numbers, for the MXGP and MX2 classes. Not going to happen, of course.
Some of the best vision / entertainment is the free practice and qualifying of both MotoGP, and WSBK. I wish Luongo and Co would learn from those broadcasts.
It is, very, very trick!
But, very, very 'distancing'.
Brit / Euro GPs are already something quite incredible to attend - the pit set ups are fantastic. A lot of Americans here will be upset by this / thumbs down me, but your National Pits, whilst quite something themselves, just doesn't reach the GP levels.
Goodness me, that must be a bloody expensive set up.
How long until Luongo specifies this level of Pit presentation to be 'required', is my fear?
Kimi himself, would have no problem paying for it - I'd say his whole MX set up is like small change spending to him. Got to love multi millionaires that are into MX.
it's about an hour fifteen until the MX2 practice /and then the MXGP practice is on, 45 minutes after it. Then EMX125 and WMX race 1s.
So, a sh**load of streaming, still, weather permitting
Anyhow, I’m looking forward to the ems 125. That vholland kids tips from what I’ve see but my money would be on everts any day. I hope as a Brit we can see rizzi up there as he’s been riding well recently too.
So how’s the track looking is it very wet?
