Anybody know what TV channels will broadcast the MX2&MXGP moto's live? Any country.

There's a broadcaster page on the mxgp website, but it seems a lot of them will air it with a delay, or just the mxgp moto's.

Who knew that Britain in February has awful weather? We have had a storm hit us 3 weekends in a row now. Ciara, Dennis and Jorge.

Bullshit they shouldn't have organised gp's in brittain and holland at this time of the year. This is the price they pay for it

Holy shit!! Man , hopefully nobody got hurt , and you guys that are going , be safe! I got my yearly package all set up and am ready to watch me some MXGP's!!

Side note / question.......what happens when those winds ( if ) they come back with the guys out on the track? How fast were those winds , to knock the towers over?

I was at Teutschenthal in May one year and we had a delay on the Saturday because the track was completely flooded on the Friday. Shit like this can happen almost anywhere at anytime. We had a season opener cancelled after one moto in sunny Italy in April not so long ago. The weather in the south of England at this time of the year is usually quite mild and the conditions are prefect for motocross. It has been for the last few years, and it will be for the rest of the weekend

Winds should hopefully be gone now. We had an overnight storm which seems to have passed, it’s looked bright and quite mild at the moment. I think the delay is more to do with the clean up effort required than conditions at the moment

Put security to stop you going to the affected area, not hard it you really think about.
Is that the security that needs to control the people coming in

Not my point. If you plan matterly and valkenswaard in may, you reduce the chance of a shit show. Sure it can happen, but less chance

Latest forecast is the winds continuing at 40+ mph till around 5pm when they drop to around 20mph. Tomorrow the forecast is very good, 15mph winds, only 20% chance of rain and sunshine.

Not letting people near the track at the moment is the only sensible thing to do.

For those that say this is the reason Matterley shouldn't have been scheduled early in the year, these windy conditions are freakish. Besides, whatever happened to the 'iron men of motocross' attitude? If people want perfect conditions every event then I would suggest golf or maybe beach volleyball.

Yeah the ones that are stopping the vendors from supplying the paying public with food & hot drinks on this freezing weekend. Good job you’re not running it.

There’s always the chance of rain in Britain whatever time of year. However in summer there’s maybe a 25% chance of rain, but in February there’s a 25% chance it’ll be dry. Running now was always risky.

We had plenty of early-season races in the past, but those in charge chose to run them at all-weather circuits, which Matterley isn’t.

That’s said, I love a good mud race. It makes it far more interesting. It’s not just a jumping procession with little passing. It’s a test of skill, endurance, line choice and race craft. It sorts the men out from the boys. It plays into the hands of the more versatile riders and can often throw up different - and unexpected - results.

And it’s the same for everyone.

I’m more excited to go watch tomorrow than if it were dry. Wear the right clothing and it’s all good.

Do you suffer from some kind of sight defect? Can't you see the carnage in the photos? I wouldn't let my kids anywhere near the place until tomorrow.

Is putting hamburger availability above public safety a joke or are you being serious?

I’ve been stood about a 100 yards away from the structure, there’s no way the public can get injured. The public are being let in now, the pits are open, suns out. If you’ve been to the track you will know the main viewing area is nowhere near the start line.

Hoping more teams on both sides of the pond will follow suit. That is badass!
I might be alone here, but I very much disagree. With all the big sponsorship signs and gates around the tracks during the GP’s we already get a lot less feel and fun to be there. Pit setups like these will give us even less interaction with teams and riders. I love sometimes hanging out at the pits watching, doing that with a window in between seems less appealing to me.

I watched the Studio Show, and, in the background sections of the track looked to be still grassed.

Yet, pictures above, show graded dirt / mud.

So, is it a mixture of track preps, or, am I just a blind old Bear?

Looks like Hawkstone was a good pre-GP outing, what with all of the wetness.

No MXGP / MX Qualifying Motos, but, they are showing the Free Practice / Timed Practice, Live! Woohoo

Hell, I'd love that to be the permanent way of doing things, together with affordable entry fees and, subsequently, higher entry numbers, for the MXGP and MX2 classes. Not going to happen, of course.

Some of the best vision / entertainment is the free practice and qualifying of both MotoGP, and WSBK. I wish Luongo and Co would learn from those broadcasts.

I can see both of you twos points.

It is, very, very trick!

But, very, very 'distancing'.

Brit / Euro GPs are already something quite incredible to attend - the pit set ups are fantastic. A lot of Americans here will be upset by this / thumbs down me, but your National Pits, whilst quite something themselves, just doesn't reach the GP levels.

Goodness me, that must be a bloody expensive set up.

How long until Luongo specifies this level of Pit presentation to be 'required', is my fear?

Kimi himself, would have no problem paying for it - I'd say his whole MX set up is like small change spending to him. Got to love multi millionaires that are into MX. Cool

Sounds like they're having one free/timed practice to determine gate picks.

Go back into the site - they just updated the schedule.

it's about an hour fifteen until the MX2 practice /and then the MXGP practice is on, 45 minutes after it. Then EMX125 and WMX race 1s.

So, a sh**load of streaming, still, weather permitting

I understand now. It’s a shame about the whole set up, I really want it to work out for Dixon, as if we lost matterley we’d have no chance of getting another gp anywhere else which the required infrastructure anymore, unless it was a temporary track at a race circuit.

Anyhow, I’m looking forward to the ems 125. That vholland kids tips from what I’ve see but my money would be on everts any day. I hope as a Brit we can see rizzi up there as he’s been riding well recently too.

So how’s the track looking is it very wet?
