5’7 and 155 pounds which 250F would best fit me?

I’m looking for a good 250F that could fit me, I went to my local dealer ship and all they had was Yamahas and I tried to get on one but it was too tall, I’m looking at CRF250F Suzuki’s 250F and Kawasaki 250F, at the dealership they had a 150R I sat on it but I didn't flat foot it but could sit pretty comfortably on it, but I need a 250F, Which one should I get?

Being able to touch the ground isn't important. Being able stand on the pegs and get your ass of the seat is what matters.

You may get a smokin deal on a 19/20 zuk. But, yz250f is most popular in my area.

I am 5’7. I put a lowering link on any bike I buy. I still can’t touch on some of them.

You’re the same size as my best friend and he loves his 18 YZ250F. He has 3 of them. 2 2016 and his 2018. The others are for his wife and 14 year old son who are all about the same height but he’s the heaviest. Pretty popular bikes with everyone in our group of riders regardless of height and weight. None of them are lowered but the suspension is setup for everyone’s height and weight. I think even he went down a spring rate slightly on the fork.

They are all relatively the same size.

I think the Yamaha is the best overall package for a novice. Motor has a lot of bottom end and the chassis is stable and predictable.

Yup. I'm 5' 6", 150 lbs. I ride the bikes in my signature and none of them have lower seats or anything. In fact, I ran the _tall_ seat on my '04 KX 125 and '02 RM 125 as it was easier on my knees to move from sitting to standing. .

I guess I’m going to have to buy a lowering link to then since we’re the same height, I do track and trails mostly just a occasionally on the weekends, so I guess I’ll shave the seat down to 😂

I’ll probably get a lowering link and shave the seat down a little, I do trails and track occasionally on the weekends, so I don’t really need a Yamaha then.

I’ve been thinking about buying a yz, if I do I’ll probably put a lowering link and shave the seat down a little in the bike since I do trails and track.

You and I are the same size, and my son is 5'5" @ 130lbs. Neither of us have ever lowered any of our bikes.

If you're trail riding a lower seat is a nice thing to have, as is the e-start when stalling the bike on a hillside.

For the guys using a lowering link, does it make the bike feel like a chopper or can you raise the forks enough where the bike still sits level?

My missus is pretty short so I get a shop to lower the forks and shock in her bikes but it would be nice to be able to just put a lowering link in it

Maserati 250F would be the best choice.

Just saying.

Yamaha also has e start which is helpful to shorter riders. I have a kawi and love it but I’m 6’ 4” so starting is always a breeze

A lowering link will change the suspension's action- Pro Circuit sells tons of link arms intended to stiffen the initial action and, oh, by the way, the lower the bike a little bit.

I don't like shaving seats because then my knees bend harder and the handlebars are effectively 1-2" higher when seating which makes them feel chopper-ish. I hate that.

I think the BEST way to lower a bike is to send the suspension off. A friend of mine lowered his Husky TE 150 3" this way. I rode it 2x at a local enduro and it felt really good to me. In an enduro, you don't really need 12" of suspension travel anyway and the improved, balanced action was a HUGE part of the change. Being lower to the ground made turning a simple reaction rather than a planned action. I'm not gonna lower my KTM 'cause Kreft already did my suspension, but I was impressed with his little bike.

5'7 is not short by MX standards...The Japaneses are not particularly a physically large group.

I'm guessing you're just getting started out riding, so I would honestly go kawi or suzuki. Very rider friendly and will be much cheaper.

I’m 5’7” 165lbs. Always have felt most comfortable on a Kawi. Just switched to KTM this year and even though the seat height specs are close it definitely feels taller. But it has a Majic button so no worries!
