This game is way different. Feels no where near the same as 1 or 2 or even mxgp. To early to tell if I like it yet. I was pretty good at the others ones and mxgp. But I'm aweful at this one

Dangit, had to cancel my pre order after all... Had no idea about the early access digital release.
Got that instead, sneaky bastards, paid near double to get it instantly instead of waiting until the original release date.

Probably worth it though considering the effect it would’ve had on work if starting mid week.

After about 2,5 hours with it, initial reaction is it’s freaking hard. Maybe I’ve been away from milestone games too long but either way, it is very challenging and unforgiving. Totally dig it though. Only used first person as always so might be a little learning curve there as with any new game I guess.

Stoked on it, frustrated how bad I am but can’t wait to get back and do more laps. Very happy that the “star” level up system is gone.

Track editor is simply better than the last edition. So stoked how they flow better and are a decent width without the insane slide feeling either.

What is up with sitting at the starting line waiting for the gate to drop? It is like things go into slow-mo. Very weird,

I suck at this game so far and I think that is a good thing. Too many times I've picked one of these up and been able to win everything in career mode on the first run through. I have crashed by accidentally whipping in the air a lot, I'm still used to the air steering from the last one but I'm glad it's gone.

Game is great. Minus the bike sounds. But I feel like I'm the only one that cares about that lol

Best Supercross/Motocross game that's ever been created, hands down... I feel if this was released back in the day pre-social media, nobody would have a bad word to say about it. Nowadays it's too easy for people to moan about small little things that really aren't relevant in a modern SX game, whilst overlooking just how good of a game this is. Thankyou Milestone for listening to the comments and sticking with it! You guys who have cancelled your 8th pre-order are safe to go through with it this time, it's worth it.

I played for a few hours last night and its pretty damn good.

Man is it hard to be fast with out being able to do minor direction changes in air. Harder but I like it.

I agree. I can’t believe they can’t improve on the bike sounds.

The game is super fun and challenging. One complaint tho; the push to talk button is grayed out which totally ruins my button layout for the manual transmission setting. I am getting used to shifting up with B, but clicking the stick was so much easier.

Edit: just go into the controller settings on your console and swap the buttons. I’ve dine it before, but it’s atill annoying to change it back every time you want to play a different game.

Has anyone else had the glitch during the Triple Crown happen? Sometimes in the middle race I’ll win and it says I finished around 10th place. Kinda bizarre. Otherwise the game is great!

It’s good I don’t agree it’s the best game ever. It’s very touchy and hard to control the whips, also hard when setting up for a corner after a jump to land and turn quick. Besides that the game is way better then previous and a big step in the right direction.

To me it feels like only the left stick has any input as far as controlling the rider and the right stick does absolutely nothing to shift body weight

I played for a couple of hours last night and I am liking it a lot. I was expecting it to be a lot more like the last game, but the feel is entirely different. It's hard to describe the difference, but I would say you really feel the weight of the bike more. A few things off the top of my head:

-You can ride for real teams in career mode. The only team that I noticed was missing was the Geico Honda team. The first part of career mode is kind of an exhibition race and afterwards you get offers from teams. The race was easy to win and I got offers from JGR and TLD KTM. When you choose to ride for a team, you're locked into riding their gear, but it kind of sucks because it forces you to wear a single kit rather than letting you wear any kit from the brand associated with that team.

-Not that this is huge, but the menus make it look like a legitimate game instead of something cheap.

-There is still a major lack of options when it comes to the fonts for name/number on the bike and jersey. Not a huge deal to most people, but how hard is it to give us more options? I don't think you can change the font on the bike at all.

-AI opponents still tend to be really bunched up. This just frustrates the hell out of me.

I still haven't played a ton, but I really think the gameplay is a big improvement. Still a few small annoying things mentioned above, but I'm really liking it.

Couldn’t corner to save my life in 1 or 2. Would roll on the throttle and shoot off the track. Debating getting this for that exact reason 😂

This game is absolutely fantastic. It is better than all previous games in every single way. First few races you WILL be bad. You WILL get frustrated. You will keep trying to play it like SX2 until you understand the mechanics of the game. The different preload options are a total game changer for like choices. In a week or so you will be fully dialed in. I played about 6 hours yesterday and am really finding a flow that’s incredibly Satisfying when you nail everything.

Just remember you will not be good at this game right away. Why would you want to be?

Every bike brand has a different sound and pipe also makes a difference.

Special edition. Cost 86 total total. Main reason for spending the extra coin is for early access, comes out Monday night for regular edition. You get 9 DLC tracks in the special edition, not sure what they are but I would have bought them regardless so special edition was somewhat worth it. Game is sick. Online is much better.

They brought back lobbies list and it’ll till if the lobby is: racing, voting, lobby. About time gp1 had this same set up

Are y’all using standard physics or advanced? Also... I’m struggling with the semi auto shifting... it keeps shifting me into 2nd when I don’t want to. Manual is tough to keep up with though.

My initial thoughts after a couple of hours with the game:

PROS

Graphics - This one is a given, Milestone games always look fantastic and this one is no different.
Air Physics - While not at the same level as the Mx vs ATV games, this one is a HUGE improvement. You can actually throw down some style in the air.
AI - I'm racing on medium difficulty and i barely squeezed out a 7th place finish, the AI races you HARD. I like it.

CONS

Crashing - It seems like the rider has no will to live at times and just throws himself off the bike for no reason. It's frustrating as fuck.
Starts - The weird tunnel vision thing is awful. Get rid of it.
Jersey name - For the love of god, can someone PLEASE let us increase the size of the damn font already?
Soundtrack - Mainly bad rap and soft electronic music, makes me wanna mute the game while in the menus.

So far that's it. I'll write some more as i go along.

In last year's game I couldn't even play in third person, but I think it's a lot easier to use that view versus first person in this game.

I'm really liking the game, but it's still got the same small issues that are just frustrating. They have really solid gameplay, but they just fuck up the minor details that should be so easy.

Like the guy said above, why can't you make the name on your jersey bigger? They give you like 5 fonts to choose from and using the largest one at the largest size, the name is tiny.

Why can't there be more number fonts than the handful of shitty generic one's?

Why does the AI always race in a huge pack like it's a NASCAR race at Daytona? This has plagued all Milestone MX games. To add to that, why are the fastest riders always getting beat by slower guys? In my current 250 East championship, Josh Osby is second in points, Forkner 10th, Martin 11th, and Sexton 14th.

If they would just work out these small common sense details it would take these games from good to great, in my opinion.
