Everyone has and is entitled to their opinion....even if it's WRONG. I don't care if he makes the night show though the LCQ at every race he enters this season. It's a better night with him in it. Ask the fans that get a little chat and an autograph. Hell, ask your wife/girlfriend what she thinks of old Chadrock....they usually say, "he's hot". I ain't telling anyone they have to love him but he's good for the sport and that's enough. Hail the Chad.

I said this in another post, as a lifetime reed fan(23yo) it’s a bit frustrating to not see him working in the gym and getting his fitness up. Or at least posting on Instagram about it. I get that he had broken ribs from AusX, so whatever I give him the benefit of the doubt. I think trying to put a supercross program together with solid sponsors and top level equipment took most of his limited off season time.
Ellie posted pics all off season of them in the gym, him cycling and other stuff. Nerves got to him last night, he said so, but...

Wish he had of got another year on the zook with JGR, he beat every suzuki rider with no bike time, healing broken ribs and a bike he threw together a week before A1. A true battler, gonna miss him

Neither Ellie or chad were posting workout stories or feed posts “all” offseason.

Really? You didn't see them going to the gym together, in the gym, the Arma shoutouts post gym?

He was, (and fwiw, Ellie too), busting himself. Chad actually looked really fit heading in to Paris.

Ok I thought I was being clear. I’m arguing that he wasn’t showing that he was busting his ass off in the gym “all” off season. He said himself in a post in late November “ Im not in the best physical shape.” Although he does look better than he did when he was on the white whale.

I think its two-sided what he is saying. There arent any completely stand out guys, or a group like him, ricky and james were. At the same time, I think he is saying that the bikes are so good now that the skill gap has narrowed because you dont need to be so perfect on the bike, so a guy that is little rough has some extra to make up for mistakes. At the same time the bike cant be ridden for everything it has so that makes the top guys need to keep themselves in check. This has created closer racing.
I agree there isn’t really a stand out guy coming up at the moment (in the US) but I don’t say it’s because bikes have gotten better. All the riders have gotten better, thus creating a deeper and tougher field and creating tighter racing.

All this whining and crying how there's no money in the sport and Chad shows up to A1 driving an orange Lamborghini. LOL

Yes Im aware of that. But all year everyone is crying about no money in the sport, no sponsors and Chad rolls up in Lambo. Its just ironic even if it's loaner.

He has a program with them racing the Lambo Cup or whatever it's called. Apparently will miss a couple of SX rounds because of those commitments.

Was a kids free weekend at A1 so him and the missus relived old times.

The bikes are far better. The reliability issues with the 4 strokes have been largely overcome and their power delivery is absurdly good. Suspension and chassis design is relentless.

I didn’t say the bikes weren’t better, obviously they are. I’m saying that the parity we see now is more because of the riders as a whole getting better and creating a deeper field. The bikes getting better has helped everybody.

Stew wasn’t dominating everyone because their bikes were unreliable. He was just better than them.

This final year of Reed is great. He gets to say goodbye to all of his fans and have a good, low pressure time finally. He should have done this about 2 years ago when he was somewhat competitive though. Watching a guy like Reed barely make the main is not good. With the talent level in SX right now, I don't see him making every main this year by any means. He won't be taking any unnecessary risks that's for sure. I hope he does well, but for people to expect him to podium, it's a bit unrealistic. Unless there is a torrent of low digit rider injuries, we've seen the last of Reed's chances to be in the top 5.

He’s achieved what he wanted. 250 starts and every record aside from overall wins. Best overall career in racing I would say, in terms of longevity.

No one can say that Reed does not have the heart of a lion racing. He has returned from some brutal crashes to again be a being a top runner he has battled head to head with 2 of the sports best champions RC and JS7 and he never backed down.

IF you have ever broken a rib you know what he is going through Right now. IF you have not you have ever broken a rib you have no idea. Having broken ribs you have to sleep in a chair and it is painful and takes many weeks before even attemptIng to sleep in a bed and still in pain.

I dislocated a rib and cracked my sternum and several ribs 5 weeks ago and I am going through the same thing right now and still can not sleep in our bed.

He is currently riding at maybe 80% of what he is capable of and just like 2 years ago when he showed up last minute on his own Husky 2 weeks from returning to riding from injury he improved week after week. I anticipate He will do the same this year climbing up the results chart.

To me if he gets a top10 Finnish in his last year before retiring that is a huge win In my book

A rare thing these days in a world where "commitment" is a fart in the wind.

So based on the lack of red on the bike or Honda logos on any of his gear, I'm guessing Reed is getting zero support from Honda? Forgive me if this had been mentioned before.
