Yes, MXfiles as soon as possible. What an incredible story and a huge motivator, he needs to be writing a book and working on a movie deal. Next thing we will hear is Doug has found a way to cheat death and live forever! Just cant keep him down!

yea he is one tough SOB!! i really thought this one would be it but im glad he proved me wrong! i know the celebration was about james but when Doug walked to the podium to give his speech you cant help but think a championship is awesome but to do what Doug has done is well way above it in my books. Doug your the man!

I love Doug. He was always one of my favorite racers. I hope that those stem-cell researchers figure something out soon.

How cool would it be to see all the guys that have had SCIs make full recoveries? If I were the praying type, I'd definitely pray for that.

Great news and thread.

He is the most human MXer I've ever met in all my years.

We are the ones blessed by a real man; gracious, humble and just plain a great guy and family man. Not a mean bone in his bod....

God Bless Doug, Stacy and their family always.

I agree with everyone that Doug is a very special individual. Do you all know that everyone on this thread has finally agreed on something??? That must be some kind of record.

Doug was my favorite rider durining my Honda years. Doug was my hero when he came back from the Buds crash. Doug was my hero when he broke BOTH arms and came back again. Doug was my hero when he won the outdoor title and won sx main events on a bike 30lb heavier than any other. Doug was my hero when he continued showing up for the Wick and winning SuperMoto. Doug was my hero when he broke his back again and could still smile.

No words can describe what Doug Henry means to me in my lifetime.

Nothing is ever over. Just ask Doug.

To bad we all can't live our lives like him. True testimony to the human spirit.

Henry's gotta be one of the best liked racers. Heck, everyone liked him even before he started struggling with the huge get-offs and injuries. Remember just before his first Budd's Creek injury, he won that mudder at the Dallas SX? He was the only guy tripling. It was so muddy, they stuck these numbers on the tops of the helmets to help identify the riders, and that didn't work. If I remember right, he beat MC.

this sport is so filled with nicnames........ the GOAT, the King, Fastest man on the planet, the Icon.......

Henry needs a nicname far above any of those...... or perhaps, just his plain name should be held in reverence far above any nicname that could ever be given..... he's in a league all his own..... for how fast he's gone and what he's given to/for this sport....

I was there in Vegas when he smoked the field on that 400 four....................and I thought , wow, now that is impressive.
But seeing the video and listening to him speak...................................oh my gosh, that is one hundred times more impressive than the Vegas feat! I am so happy for that man, and his family, heck I almost cried watching him stand there. Just beautiful.
Thanks for the link!
