Didn’t see this posted, but this podcast with Kourtney Lloyd about that CMA idiot Marilyn is a good listen.

Yeah, it's not looking good for Canada to attend this year if you ask me. Total BS and it sucks.

The whole CMA is a joke.

I feel bad for Kourtney, she’s poured her heart into that role and to be treated like that is a complete joke and a black eye to Canadian motocross. I wish the FIM would step in and do something but I suspect either they are ignorant too it, don’t care or legally are bound to the CMA for some reason.

For those of you south of the border be thankful for the AMA.

The FIM only recognizes the CMA in Canada, despite the fact they have had 0 involvement in Professional Canadian Motocross since the 80's.

Marilyn has deep routed ties to the FIM, however those are beginning to dissolve. Best case scenario is as they outlined. A total boycott until the FIM delists the CMA and moves the designation to MRC (new CMRC) which is actually progressing the sport.

I believe the issue is MRC is focused on exclusively motocross, while the CMA is overarching. MRC will need to prove they can be the "new" CMA to earn FIM approval.

What a shit show. I don’t know anything about Canadian Moto other than the announcers are awesome and the tracks looked sweet, but I can’t help but be sympathetic to Kourtney about what’s happened. We all know how MXON works and what it takes to get riders there. Her commitment should be rewarded and admired if nothing else. Hopefully something good comes of this and maybe Marilyn should be audited because she sounds shady as hell

Marilyn needs to roll the fuck over or retire. One of those days is coming soon and that will be the day Canadian moto rejoices.

The Bastedo family has been effing up motocross in Canada since I was on 80cc back in 1978. My entire career everything was CMA sanctioned and it kind of worked OK for Quebec and Ontario in the 1980s, but the other provinces got little support from the CMA. I was retired and gone before the split, but there were people in the prairies already leading the movement away from the CMA back in the late 1980s. But the CMA has stubbornly held on to the FIM affiliation, probably just so Marilyn can get some free trips to Italy and Switzerland each year. Total BS.

So basically Courtney’s experience is that the CMA nickel and dimed her with the budget and was basically not in touch with reality. She didn’t get any praise for a job well done.

I’m sure there was more to the story.

I agree with the guy above, maybe CMA needs an audit?

Kourtney has been responsible for getting the job done and getting results.

That needs to be respected.

Bastedoes are entrenched in Canada like snow in winter last I heard Marilyn was thee FIM representative for Canada as well. They view the CMA as their piggy bank and will not spend anything on any type of pro racing.Visit the CMA website and see what it has on offer in 2019 that says it all.

I don't even understand what the CMA does. I guess my question is where does she get money from to make it worth hanging on to? As far as I can tell all they have is one or two races in agassiz per year. I must be missing something?

Seems like they have as much of their sh!t together as the AMA does here! Insert sarcasm here.

ONE Bastedo. And she left the family about 40 years ago but never changed her last name. The rest are regular enthusiasts like you

You are right, however, a national organization that is involved in all forms of racing in Canada is needed for easy FIM approval. Jetwerx/Justin Thompson is on the right track

Who are you, and what is your agenda? setting up a vital Mx account yesterday and combing the message boards for CMA related threads from many months ago, just to comment that you’re somehow an insider...nothing out of the ordinary there...

No agenda. Just a rider like you with a lot of unbiased info from both sides. Saw a lot of false info on these threads in the past couple days and need to clear a couple things up. That’s it. You can pm me if you have any questions

I don’t support the cma and I’m not bashing it. I just know that there is a lot more to the story than what’s easily available online.

Maybe insidermx wasn’t the best name lol

This national organization would only have to be involved in motorcycle racing in Canada. Jetwerx already has MX/ SX / AX, If they could expand the MRC to cover sport bike (CSBK) and flat track (Flat Track Canada) then they should be good to go. Not too up to speed on what the woods guys are doing, but it seems to be a collection of independent events.

Hopefully this can happen in the next couple of years.. its long over due!

Yes big changes are coming soon and. It’s a shame that for the amount of riders in Canada we have so many organizations and promoters with different rules. Hopefully they will all come together soon and bring Canadian Mx back to what it used to be
