Easiest clutch lever to pull

Who makes the easiest pull lever for cable clutches. I’ve got the cheaper pro taper lever now and it’s really hard to pull, new lubed cable as well and it’s very hard. Anyone make one that has a better pivot that is easy?

I second the Works Connection perch. Clutch pulls in sooo easy.

Either that or ASV. ASV lever/perch changes the leverage ratio, and the adjustable lever allows you to put the lever wherever you like it

The Arc lever/ perch combo is really good as well.

arc lever, i had works connection elite, great perch but feels chunky in fingers, the arc perch was an easier pull and a smoother feel in the fingers (shape)

I have gytr levers (Yamaha). But obviously you can’t run those. My buddy has the pro taper levers and they aren’t hard at all. Almost as easy and smooth as mine. You sure you don’t have some heavy duty springs in it or something?

McGrath used to run a XT550 clutch setup on his Yamaha’s. That might be the ratio that works connection uses.

I've had good luck with ARC levers.

To be honest if your clutch is hard to pull the basket is probably notched. Even a stock lever with a fresh cable should be very easy to pull.

I dont have personal experience with hinsons. A buddy of mine mentioned only using 1/2 the springs from the hinson kit and 1/2 stock. He said its too stiff on full hinson springs. Might be worth looking at if its indeed all new as you say.

A notched basket isn’t going impact the pull of the lever, but it’ll impact how it operates.

That’s been my experience anyways.

are you running HD springs? I had HD springs i my 03 kx, made clutch pull really hard.

Stock springs in the clutch it had hd ones but I put new stock oem ones in

Have you checked the push rod to see if it's bent? Also check the actuator arm for excessive wear.

Did the oem ones make the pull easier? if not something else is amiss.

I also have an 05 KX250 that has a clutch pull is tough to handle. I tried a new cable, new oem springs, new aftermarket springs and even a Works Connection elite pro perch. Sadly nothing helped it. I really think it has to do with how short the actuator arm is inside the ignition cover. They had to have it short to fit in there. The old trick I used to do was add about 10mm of material to the actuator arm to give it more leverage when pulling. Can't really do that to the 05 and up KX's. I ended up going with a Magura Hydraulic clutch set up, and it works awesome. Kind of pricey, but worth it in my opinion.
