Since Alta’s downfall, i havent seen much of the ”big” electric bikes, but the new 50cc electric bikes are going strong.
Does KTM still have their freeride bikes or do they have a bike capable of racing in the pipeline?

To actually respond to your question (rather than bash on it like all of the other people on this thread who are apparently terrified of the future and change), NO, there hasn't been any news on the Honda CR-E.

My guess is that it will be a while until there is any solid information or projections for any possible production.

KTM seems to be going the route of getting youth on e-bikes now, then let them grow up with them. Their youth model will soon be released, so perhaps an 85cc equivalent (ie, a more competitive version of the Freeride-E) might be a few years behind, followed by full-sized models a few years after that. I think this would allow for technology and performance improvements to develop as the riders age into the larger bikes. All just speculation here, but that's my two cents.

At the moment, the only full-size electric MX bike near any sort of production seems to be the Sur-Ron Storm Bee which is set to make a public debut at EICMA on Nov. 7.

All of the naysayers will whine that it's a Chinese manufacturer with subpar parts and is underpowered, but I don't really care what anyone says. Sur-Ron is making the effort and I want in.
Im almost ready to pull the trigger on a Sur-ron.

I wish it wasnt such a stupid name though

Motocross guys are ALL about having the latest trick gear. An electric bike is a new standard for the latest and greatest, and once the "local fastest guy" gets one, the rest will too.

This is fantastic for the manufacturers, it will lead to a surge in sales that this industry hasn't seen for years. I am not a personal fan of electric bikes over gas, but I want to see electric hit the market just to help save the sport.
This is a good, sensible take on the subject.
