Can you imagine having the same posters on your wall that you had 25-30 years ago? Or being stuck with the same hair style? Imagine 25-30 years from now you're the only cat stuck with a shaved head and a chin beard. Think I'll invest big in a tattoo removal shop in about five years or so.

Just my own personal opinion here, I just don't get it...

Am I missing something? Anyone have tattoos and regret getting them?

I have a tattoo...and don't regret it one bit. It has my children's names. I don't think that even in 25-30 years, I will feel that I am "stuck" with them.

I didn't do it to be a rebel or for other's approval....

How many people do you know that were stupid enough to get their wives or husbands name tattoo'd only to divorce "#" years later?

The one I really don't get is the tramp stamp on the lower back. Why would you put a picture of something you like where you cant see it. You might as well have it tattoo'd in your asshole. I have never put a bumper sticker on any vehicle in my life except once. I put it on my glovebox door so I could see it. Why do people think that random strangers give a flea fuck about what they think about anything? Hey everybody! If you look at my bumper you can see the name of lying, crooked POS I voted for! Now we have the stick figures on the back window showing that you have a wife and how many times she let you fuck her and the dog. What's next? Dick dimensions? Checkbook balance? A pic of your biggest doody?

You're not alone--I don't get it either.....

I have a buddy who just turned 50 and because some chic he was dating liked tat's he did his whole back and partial arm.

I laugh to myself every time I see them as he is no longer with the chic and he has a hairy back! LOL

No fan of tat's myself, for myself.

I definitely don't care for the trend followers, but some folks just want ink. I can respect that decision for them. Still not a fan, but to each their own.

I thought about starting a website called "trampstamp.com"...domain was already taken. Thought it might be the next "hot or not" type thing. Try to cash in on a trend.

I have 2 tats. I love them both. I did it for myself though and both have meaning on many levels. that's the difference I suppose. Do you get them for yourself or to be cool. BTW I didn't get my first until I was in my late 30's and my second in my mid 40's. I laugh with my 16 year old. His friends are getting these wacked out tats. what are their parents thinking?

Always been fascinated with ink. My uncle had them on his armsout of the Navy in the late 50s and I used to trace them or try. Had a motorcycle riding skeleton on one shoulder and a snake up his forearm. Wanted one forever and finally got one mid 90s no one can see unless shirtless . I am fine with them. All the piercing and stretching is way more "what was I thinking".

You have to be sharp enough to make something timeless and meaningful. I did it. My tat still carries the same value to me as it did back when I got it.

To each there own. I don't see why people care what other people do with their bodies or looks . It is the same with long hair. Some guys around here think certain riders need to get a hair cut. I bet most of them are just bald and jealous.

It's a trendy thing to do right now.
When I was young tats illustrated time in the service, gang membership, biker/lifestyle statements, or memorials. There were some that were sleeved with art - but they were very rare.
Women with tats were rare too.
Nothing has changed since that gives tats any more value than they had then, yet young people are lining up to get them now.

I think in the No Fear MILF contest in moto, there's an example of someone that basically vandalized their body and will be wearing nothing but long sleeves in 30 years or so....Dizzy

I got my first tattoo a couple months ago at age 42. It's a grim reaper with a checkered flag hood. I did it for myself and don't really give a crap what anyone else thinks. I got it high up on my arm where no one will see it unless I lift my sleeve and show it to them. I've always been into heavy metal and its associated imagery, and I love motorsports, so it combines the two. When I'm 90 yrs. old and shriveling up, I'll look at it and smile remembering the good old days.

have one arching over my belly button from hip bone to hip bone. dont regret getting it at all. it has meaning a motivation to it. plan on getting 2 more and then being done with it. one on the left side of my rib cage for my family. both mom and pops sides. trying to figure out how to combine german and cuban is gonna be hard. the other will be on my right side of my rib cage and it'll be an under water ocean seen with two pirate ships blowing the shit out of each other and sharks and all other kinds of fish swiming underneath of them. that one is going to be for my love for the water and the sea.

When my oldest son was almost 18 he announced to me that he was going to get a tatoo of a symbol off his Henry Rollins album. I said that if I'd done that at his age I'd still have "Strawberry Alarm Clock" on my chest. He said "Who?" And I said "my point exactly!".

I really don't care what others do with their bodies, but looking back at what I thought was cool in the 60's then 70's then (holy shit) the 80's I don't belive I want anything on me that I can't change later. You guys have see the Beatle boots on my avatar, right?

I wouldnt mind getting one. Only problem is I cant think of anything meaningful enough to wear for the rest of my life.

I dont get why they bother people. I also dont get why my long hair bothers people. Actually, I kind of like it when I get looks from folks and get told to cut my hair. It amazes me what gets on people's nerves sometimes...
