Thanks for the link.

Some impressions:

-Low n size: only 10 participants which is very low for any experiment
-The participants were diagnosed with social anxiety disorder meaning they are already experiencing more anxiety than the average person, so, we still do not know how CBD influences anxiety in an average person. Plus, social anxiety is very different than regular, generalized anxiety
-Most important, they were given 400mg of 99.9% pure CBD, which does not seem to be the type of product sold OTC.
-No control group

Nice to see work being done on this topic way back in 2010.
Holy crap, when I worked in pain research, a phase 3 trial might have needed 1000 patients.

I take 50mg per dose. 400mg is insane. Thats like $100 per dose

2 people I know sponsored by a major well known brand.
One his kid takes the ONLY 1 FDA approved brand by Prescription only for seizures.
Wont let his kid use the sponsored brand.
"No idea what is in that bottle. Nobody has ever tested it. I think they lie on the label. Who knows.
I'm paid to promote it. Not use it."

The other
"I'll whore anything for money. It's business. I'm a paid spokesman, but I have never once said I actually use it. And never will. Honestly, how can anything be some cure all from athletes foot to xenophobia. It's a scam.
If it worked, you'd need a prescription and minors couldn't buy it over the counter.
It's a bigger scam than the supplement industry.
The stuff that works is either illegal or you need a prescription.
I'll run the logo until the checks stop.
Yes, I'm a whore, but the money does my family good so if gullible people spend their hard earned money being dumb, oh well.
This career is short lived. I'll take the money while I can. I'd never buy it"

I think George Carlin has a bit about making steroids mandatory in professional sports. Maybe it was him but someone made a joke about wanting to see Barry Bonds walk on the field as "one giant chest muscle with a baseball bat sticking out" haha.

It’s not a miracle product and to think it is, is foolish. Some have tried it with little to no effects on what they were expecting to happen. I think it’s a shame that there is so many companies jumping on the band wagon to try and profit from the growing trend, because there IS substantial benefits for many conditions. The quality and dosage is key here and most are guessing as to what dosage is necessary to get the relief you’re looking for. Quality of the product is even more important and without proper mandatory testing, it’s a crap shoot.... I’ve used a dozen or more products over the years, some did nothing for me, either because of too low of dose or a low quality/ dose of CBD. I’ve been using CBDMD with good results, your results may vary....

Exactly... often in clinical trials, both the test and placebo arm see improvement and you have to use the delta to tease out whether the test arm is actually working.

A recent British medical journal went back and look at data from cancer trials and some drugs using surrogate endpoints are actually shortening survival and response rates.

No doubt it’s expensive and not everyone can afford to buy it. But if you can afford to buy the good stuff, it has many benefits. One dropper in the morning and one at night. It’s helped me tremendously with nerve pain in my neck and inflammation throughout my whole body. I know I will be using it

For that price, all you are doing is buying Bilzerian coke and Instagram hookers. Might as well buy for yourself.

You'll forget about any pain.

Sorry Shaun, but "is substantial benefit for many conditions" is quite an open statement, and I just cant get behind that.

All i see is a little bit of anecdotal evidence and a lot of poor science.

I do notice a common theme on weed products being presented in scientific papers, and the sample size is very small for the data to have any real value.

I have friends in the business and have taken it many times(I get it for free) I suffer from 35 years of MX racing and lots of broken bones, arthritis etc... I have never felt any relief whatsoever unless it has high levels of THC, then it works, I think lol. A couple ibuprofen are far more effective for me. CBD will make you tired and cotton mouthed all the time for sure.

I don't really like to take aspirins. I think(in my opinion) this is just another justification for weed. Anything to get high or whatever. I have lots of physical problems, I just deal with them-straight up.

How the hell would a dog react positively to a placebo? It doesn’t understand it’s even taking medicine.

Full disclosure, I'm an owner of a CBD company. Its not a cure, its not a fix all like the news/market makes it seem. Can it help you with pain, inflammation, focus, ect.? Yes. Does everyone need to take it, no. Don't take or try cbd if you don't want to. As a former MX racer with past injuries, it helps me live a less painful life but that is me. Here is an article is you want to read up on some of the potential benefits.

When my knee was tweaked it was the only thing besides the Norco that would let me get to sleep. It didn't help much or even at all with walking around during the day pain but being able to get some sleep sold me on it.

Did you notice the "whatever" part. Like vaping-didn't you go your whole life without it? And as weed becomes universally accepted, what's to stop cbd's from having "additives"? I think weed becoming "legal" is one of The USA's biggest failures. And I think vaping is a close second. Yeah, I'm square.

Making weed legal is one of the USAs biggest failures? You think allowing people to smoke weed is that big of a deal? Wow you are super square.

CBD or THC is in no way performance enhancing. If I were a pro athlete I'd never touch the stuff. Just slow you down. If you knew the history of the stuff you'd agree it should be legal.

I have more injuries and fucked up joints than any one human should have to deal with. CBD does nothing for my pain. Absolutely fucking nothing.

Effective medicines work on everyone. That is why they are so heavily scrutinized by the FDA. Saying CBD works for some and not others just further proves this stuff is mostly horseshit.

The next time you take CBD for pain why don’t you actually pay close attention to your pain? It hasn’t gone away, you just got high on faith for a moment.

If you’re a child with a rare form of epilepsy, I’m truly glad something has been found to actually work to minimize and/or eliminate your seizures. That’s pretty awesome. Perhaps someday a real scientist will be able to explain why exactly CBD is effective in this application.

I have been using it for several weeks. I put it under my tongue and let it sit there. The effects are subtle. If you are expecting to enter an altered state like an opiate or smoking a joint or something, it's nothing like that. It definitely has a calming effect, which is why my wife gives it to me. But it's very subtle, like I said.

CBD is Great. Makes me smile, happy, love life and my wife digs it too cuz she loves all the heart kiss emoji’s I send her when I’m high off CBD. It makes life so much better.

Jk. Kinda think it helped me sleep but I can’t be sure because I also ate 2 for $5 Big Macs that night.

For people with serious conditions like seizures or chronic illnesses, it’s a life saver. For the general public, it’s a fad that a bunch of people are making millions off of. Ibuprofen is probably a better call.

Tell me what I'm missing....
Just google 'kids seizures cbd'. I saw a documentary where some 3 year old had 20 seizures every day, then they gave him some cbd oil and he had zero. Depends on the dosage. This was years ago, before the laws were passed. I'm just saying the over the counter cbd stuff is probably pretty weak, compared to the concentrated stuff you can get from a doc or specialist. It's a huge gray area because it's a new law, and people with a lot of cash are taking advantage.
