I think the title is appropriate, but if I did it wrong, I apologize. Anyways, recently sold my YZ250F and just picked up a YZ125 today. Nothing special but I am excited. Been a while since I had a 2-stroke. Loved all of my YZ125s, in the past. I know it is not the newest 125 out there, but I just love the 05+ YZ125s and decided to stick with blue. Also still have an FC350 that I love, so it's a pretty good Vet Int line-up. Only plans are some numbers, an FMF Factory Fatty w/ 2.1 Silencer. That's about it for now. Some pics:

Good choice! They are fun, reliable bikes.

Try the V-Force reed on that thing, it works well with the stock and FMF pipes.

You did it correct. The 4 stroke guys are the one's doing it wrong. They just want to be part of the cool club.

Congrats!!!
I wonder when a few of the factories are going to take note of the current resurgence of 125’s.
Just sayin...

I did have a V-Force on my last 125, years back. I did like it. I may do that at some point but for now maybe just do the pipe and see how it goes.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Excited to get out on it. Probably hit up a practice some evening this week, to break it in. If I feel ok on it, I may bring it along next weekend to the High Point Vet National and race it in a 2nd class. We will see how it goes. Haven't ridden a 2stroke much lately, but I'm sure I'll gel with it rather quickly.

Rather than start a new thread I figured I would just bump this one and ask. So being out of the 2stroke game for a bit, I am not very familiar with the 2.1 silencers. There isn't too much on the net about them either, other than the MXA test. It seemed like they liked it. Anyone have any first-hand experience with a 2.1 shorty (doesn't have to be a YZ125)? I like how they look and it is something different from what I had in the past. But there is quite a big jump in price. Any input is welcome, thanks.

I don't know about the 2.1, but I do know that the shorty silencers made my 125s bark. I liked the FMF Fatty pipe with a shorty silencer and the aforementioned V-Force reeds. That was a really solid setup.

An update..Just due to lack of info (and price difference), I ended up not going with the 2.1 silencer. Got my system installed today, so I'm ready to go. The bike has been great.
