Main thing he has going for him is his starts. Being a little person has a definite advantage.

Can't wait to see how Cooksey explains how it's an alpha move to finish third in the first moto to set up the competition to be overconfident......

Alpha strategery?!?!?!?!

Just to be clear, I think Webb is plenty fast and a great racer, I'm just making fun of someone trying to make silly proclamations about him being THE alpha of the current crop of racers.....

I think it’s pretty clear who the alpha is right now.

Exactly. I want all the guys to fight for wins. It keeps it interesting. No disrespect meant to Cooper. He's improving and talking zero shit. Nothing to hate there. It's the people proclaiming him as the alpha dog after one win that I'm laughing at (all in good fun.)

Tomac started 15th and still beat the Alpha Dog by 40+ sec. Webb is an amazing rider but its just stupid how much Tomac is next level over him

There's a big diff between insightful analysis and simply throwing theories to the wall and hoping they stick. That column definitely didn't age well...

Where you at OP? You’ve been silent. Did Tomac put you in a cage?

Webb....Has ONE outdoor podium in 3 years of racing on the big bikes and he’s the Alpha Dog?????

I bet your parents are ready school to start back and hope you pass 5th grade this year.
Hahahahaha!

I see a lot of folks who weren’t at Millville referring to it as a lucky finish in a mud race. The first moto was greasy, but the second moto was just a moto. Playing the mud race card doesn’t apply to spring creek real well. Halfway through 450 moto 1 the guys were charging and jumping everything. It wasn’t muddy like you arm chair pros are claiming.
Not muddy at all.

Cook was wrong, no big deal since we've all been there.

Reminds me of this. I think Tomac is the one with the darker fur..

I think it is appropriate to make the point that this isn't about Webb as a rider. He hasn't been talking shit, pulling out the finger gun over finish line jumps, or doing anything other than just riding his dirtbike to the best of his ability. Honestly, I appreciate what Webb has brought to the sport this year. This thread is directed to Vitards, Motoheads, nut huggers, smack talking industry mouthpieces that made a bunch of bold predictions about Webb for the outdoors that simply hasn't gone as predicted.

And for the record, I predicted Roczen would take the outdoors this season - and I was wrong.

A normal track tomac would have passed webb like he was tied to a tree in moto 1. And moto 2 he would have came thru much faster.

Webbs starts save him. He did so well in sx because of them. Theres no time and no room in sx to make passes. In this mud race it was harder to pass. And whammo his starts saved him again.

On a normal track hes a roadblock, but cant roadblock the whole moto. On a track with 1 line he pulled it off...
Normal track.... Webb got passed like he was standing still..

I think that it's mostly aimed at one person, and in good fun at that!

Nothing against Cooksey, really, but his different "thinking" has definitely made him a fun target on this one!

Cooksey's click bait tabloid-esque "journalism" is good fun entertainment if you're into that sort of thing. He shouldn't be taken seriously as a legitimate analyst though.

Jump aboard the Webb train. It's a beautiful trip that starts out on high speed rails, then halfway through the trip coasts along the slow and steady, scenic railway.

I can sort of appreciate what Cooksey was trying to do. Guys like Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless have made careers off having outlandish opinions that like.

I doubt Webb really cares about the Nationals after he won the SX championship hands down and he IS the Alpha dog in the SX series. Cool

You think a pro mx'er at the top of the sport doesn't care about getting handled regularly? Watch the Great Outdoors series or Behind the Moto. These dudes all know and say it, that the biggest badass wins in mx. Its prob lessening the blow to his ego that he won sx but he cares. Jus my opinion

Wow, haha pretty funny. I did say it was a long shot, but nonetheless I got it wrong. When you “send it” sometimes it works out and other times you wake up asking what happened. Last week’s column was a bit of an overreaction to Millville... haha. It happens.
