Yea he put the screws to them all the time for the first 1-2 laps. Then after that the screws became loose and fell back to middle of the pack.

Atlanta 2014. I was there. Actually it was one of Mike's better SX finishes. He did fade, but not as bad as he usually did. He ended up with 6th in the main.

I walked the track earlier that day. The finish line double was longer than usual and the double after that was even longer. Most of the 250's were not getting the double after the finish line.

Alessi is a badazz on a bike, but comparing him to rv,james, kenny is funny.

That track was so cool. That double across the start straight was really tough for the 250s to get. Lot of action that night

Man, James was like an artist with his line choices. Has to be the most creative rider to ever swing a leg over a bike.

I feel like MA800 if he had Aldon would have been a multi time champ.

His sprint speed and his starts were unreal. He needed the mental edge and mid moto fitness\speed. If he rode the whole race like the first 2 laps he would have been GONE most races.

Still he was one hell of a competitor and seems like one of the nicest dudes in the pits.

LOL...so you stood behind the starting line. Like the poster said where are your results?

People talking shit about someone that "finishes mid-pack" is always funny. 99.9% couldn't qualify for a night show, self-included. I have respect for everyone that tries. Brutal sport.

You stood behind the starting line!? Wow you must be really important. I’m sure you really know the ins and outs of the sport. Congrats!

Sigh...another vital pissing contest.
Mike didn't manage to live up to the hype but he still managed to make a great living racing dirt bikes. I think for a brief time he was the fastest 450 outdoor rider in America until he injured his knee. Nothing to look down upon.
He still is racing in Canada I think. Pretty awesome life by most peoples standards.

He's still racing up here. He just won the first moto at Gopher Dunes.

You guys don’t even know who you are talkin to. I realize that it a a message board, but you never know who is behind the screen names on here. I happen to know him and he knows more about the sport than most of the guys posting on this forum. He also left out the fact that he has raced the pro class and done really well. He’s got plenty of knowledge of the ins and outs of this small industry, don’t kid yourself.

This is where I took my wife on our first date, lol. It was also the race where Alessi launched his bike into Tickle and took him out.
