Harry's Not so Big & Juicy WW Saturday Report

Ok, so, we get there and here is the first thing I'm confronted with as I walk up to the area to get ourselves checked in.

Oh, and prior to that, when we first turned into the track we're confronted with a guy and show him our tickets. VVIP. He says, "There's no VVIP. We think that's just VIP." I said, "No, VIP was a hundred less." Anyhow, we move on. After paying $2000 for four tickets, had to pay $10 to park. No biggie. I figure all that money goes to Junior, and I'm happy to give it to him.

Honestly though, we often got conflicting stories from track workers about where we could go, where to get our swag packs, etc.

All in all though, today was OK. I think they learned a lot today and tomorrow will be better. Never did see Guy B., but tomorrow he's gonna know I was at his trailer. Heehee. And yes, it was humid today. Brutally so. Also, AC92 looked very fast out there. Blake looked good too.

Pretty awesome to have a local sports station talking moto at all. Our local station mentioned motocross once, and it was basically just referring to it as a hillbilly sport

Kijen, just watched First Coast News and they had a "Top 5 Events in Jax This Weekend." I kept waiting, but after the art festival, crab festival and three other things that 400 people are going to attend, WW pro national got no mention. I called them and said, "Do you realize there is a national pro motocross on the Westside with thousands of people attending and millions of dollars coming into the city?" Reply, "Uh yeah, I'll let them know." I just hung up. Unbelievable. News 4 Jax has been better with coverage

Based on what I saw today, and knowing that people from 20 states and 16 countries have bought tickets, I'm expecting a giant turn out.

That track reminds me of the Miller Motorsports MX race they had in Utah in 2015....

Does the track look pretty fast Harry?

I'm coming around to the excitement of these new tracks. I've always been so skeptical that it's impossible to duplicate a Red Bud, Glen Helen, Southwick, etc., but maybe that's not what we need.

This is a cool new track and when I'm watching these videos come in, I find myself studying the track and getting to know it. I enjoy getting lost in the analyzation of how each rider is dissecting the track and stringing lines together.

You lose that whole spectrum of viewing experience on the "old time" tracks when they can just hit the track on lap 1 and go directly to the known fast lines. In addition to being new, which helps level some of the field out, this track will be very dynamic over the course of the day which means the track will play a strong role in the outcome this weekend.

Last week I can't recall much detail at all about the track because it was about what I have expected for years on end.

What do you guys think? How are these new age tracks impacting the racing?

Bloss said it was extremely fast, 3rd & 4th gear all the way around the track.

Although the speeds are high, it looks like a relatively safe layout.

Yes. AC was flat getting it. You could tell he felt like he was home, and since he grew up a little more than hour away, he is home.

The FL training boys have a big advantage this weekend.

Thanks, DJ. Currently it is in full rebuild mode. I'm getting close to updating my build thread. Lots of goodness since last update.

And no...no CR22. We're not wealthy, but do have a little extra for stuff like this. I wanted to let my friend, Junior (track owner), and DC know we're behind them 100%.

Some of you guys, I think, have no idea what class acts both men are. I hope they have a long and fruitful relationship. May outdoor MX live forever!

Yes, they also all got to practice there a couple of weeks ago. Including KR.

Hopefully for $500 a pop it includes unlimited alcohol and a dedicated bartender for the weekend!!!!!

Have fun!

Will do! I even shaved my beard for this. Still have the luscious mane of man fur dragging behind me for 4 feet. It's braided though with freaky beads and bones from small animals.

Thank you, APLBro. We will for sure. And yeah, the tickets include all that. We saw our "Party Shack" today. It's in the middle of the track. A/C down below and rooftop seating above.
