outside of the guest host (and blair), that was some seriously weak commentating.

when is enough enough?

when will the execs stop treating the audience like toddlers and get some IQ points in the booth?

this is embarrassing. we want to be a real sport, but we dont take OURSELVES seriously.

*M2M was finally authentic though. a real racer was cool to see.

Today's commentating was on high volume cringe. RC needs to get help or get replaced and I mean no disrespect to the Goat. Camera angles not so good either.

I was disappointed there was no must situations tonight.

Edit. RC has covertly changed the vocabulary from 'must situation' to 'got to get it done'.

The further I get removed from MX and into the corporate world, the more I realize why the sport is not any bigger than it is.

Can you elaborate? Curious.

Liability? Dullard Mass consciousness?

Have you tried turning the volume off? I watch it from work with the volume off and I don't mind the announcing. Hope this helps

I must be the only one alive that isn’t bothered by it.

Early on, when they had DB explaining the “triple jump” during one of the 450 heats, I realized that they were probably dumbing it down for the people catching it during the day that usually don’t watch Supercross when it’s on so late at night.

However, this doesn’t excuse the fact that RC just doesn’t have it as a color commentator, lol.

You're not alone. The commentary is fine.

They kept talking about hill doing that triple quad but never would put the camera on it. I feel like back in the day if someone was doing something like that they would show it. Also Ricky kept talking about getting the camera on him so he can explain the ACL thing and it was awkward just waiting for it to happen. I dont think it's all commentating. They just aren't cutting to the right cameras smoothly.

I actually think that the commentary is hurting less than terrible camera work. We have so much camera tech, and we still only get distant overhead shots most of the time. Given that we know the exact locations of the bikes, it wouldn't be that hard to totally automate the cameras to get some amazing close-up shots of corners and jumps and passes. Supercross just doesn't look nearly as gnarly and impressive as it actually is when you watch it on TV. It should look like we are standing on the side of track at all times.
