Blake didn’t like the question - he was embarrassed - that was obvious. What was he supposed to say to that? But I’m glad GuyB asked it. Maybe he’ll dispose of Webb with more alacrity in the future.
I'm not claiming to be a Vitard expert......That said, Go watch the Spy episodes on Red Bull TV, I think it is episode 3 where they have a camera on Cooper during the season with him in the tent after a practice session. It's obvious it was filmed a few rounds into the season. Cooper and his team are discussing race settings and Cooper says "What's Blake running?" "Do you have access to Blake's settings?" "We're about the same size and he's riding good in the whoops." You can hear Carlos respond with "Yes" when asked about Blake's settings.
I'd say having access to Blake's settings is a lot more than normal communication between racing teams. That tells me that the KTM teams stick together to a certain degree, even if they are competitors. Which also tells me Blake was more than willing to take the spot ahead of Cooper, but he wasn't going to pull a Justin Cooper to get there and dick up the championship points. Couple that with I'm sure its a pretty nice payday to get 2nd on the podium - better than not on the podium in the event of a crash.

Do you think Blake has access to Cooper's settings?
Nah, Baggett just stood on the gas after GuyB threw the forum members ("experts") under the bus...
Yep. I appreciate GuyB's work and everything, but the near constant put downs of the people visiting his workplace is a bit off putting. It's like going to your local department store and having the manager talk about how stupid the customers are over the intercom.

Well when vital users are the reason vital is the laughing stock of the industry im sure guyb gets pissed. Literally everyone dogs on the vital forums. Im sure its getting to him.

GuyB’s relationship with the Vital crowed reminds me of that one family member we all have who keeps screwing shit up and leaves everyone scratching their head.
If the “industry” really hated/laughed at/didn’t care about the vital forums, they wouldn’t even talk about them or care about them enough to even consider them a laughing stalk, they’d just ignore us all together.
I think the fact of the matter is that most “industry” people really do care about what is said here...they brush off the negative stuff as “stupid keyboard warriors...vitards...forum experts” blah blah blah...but they still read it, so they care.

Great analogy - so true.
I can see when things get so uncivil and personal attacks ensue that stuff has to get flushed.
What gets me is this strange calculus that our journalists (not sure they're that, but what to classify them as?) go through to protect the status quo. They go to great lengths to protect the people in the industry (riders, team personnel, sanctioning body, etc.) from anything upsetting or negative.
At the end of the day, it's self-preservation. The sport is to small, too ineffective in governing itself, etc. to really allow any true investigative journalism that could hurt the teams to ever occur. So I don't so much blame Guy B...he doesn't have much of a choice...

Does the media need the teams...or do the teams need the media?
I say the teams need the media far more than the media needs the teams...
I think this is backwards in this sport. The teams should be afraid of making the media mad not the other way around.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to rip on GuyB or anything. Overall I think he does as good of a job as anyone in the "industry" could. But the insults of the people who probably create so much traffic (traffic = income) always seems a bit odd to me.
It's one thing to do that to a specific person who is getting sideways, but another to do it to a large, unnamed group like in the Baggett question setup.
Was there not a thread where several people chimed in about Blake and how he raced Cooper last weekend?
Did Blake also eventually (and cleanly) make his way by?
When I walked into their pit area, I heard about it from a couple people there. Blake and I also talked about it before I started recording. It was all in fun.

Yeah, next time GuyB should ask the rider about all the "other" media coverage this sport gets.
SX/MX is nowhere near the professional leagues of the NBA/NFL. The forums are about the only media coverage this sport gets.
If that interview rubbed you the wrong way, you're part of our problem.
Can you imagine a website doing a web based interview asking the NFL or NBA players to comment on the content of their website that is talking about them, aka. the vocal fans of the sport, on a forum run by the media company doing the interview....
So no, I would not expect them to ask about a forum comment on the podium, but its not even close to the same thing.
And also, you do realise that one of THE most popular viral trends over the last few years is INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS!!! reading mean tweets written by everyday people...
Its kind of not that dissimilar to this... so maybe if they had a panel type pre or post show on NBC, famous riders reading 'mean vital threads' might actually help build the sport.

Seriously? So, he's supposed to blindly defend the however many thousand members that post nonsense on here? It would be like sticking up for the jerkoff at work that you've made clear to him and everyone else that he shouldn't have a job.

I am responding to because you’ve been here a long time and I would think won’t take offense to stuff i’m saying here.
There are a lot of “vitards” that come off as completely sideways and out of line with their posts within the racing community. However, there are many here that aren’t considered “vitards”. It’s kinda like immigration, the illegals ruin the perception for everyone. If riders or even GUYB called out specific posters could you imagine? There would be a mad dash in here to be an asshole just to get a mention from a rider.
The problem is, if you try to correct someone on here with reality and fact then you are usually labeled as a industry kiss ass or a know it all asshole. Years ago this place was full of industry and even riders posting. They have been ran off. Remember DV12? I remember him getting called an idiot, a know it all.
One thing I have noticed is if you make a generalization about the place without calling specific people out in a post or in an interview a lot of people that shouldn’t, get offended. Much like this thread.
Anyways, I think a lot of the people posting about this aren’t the ones GuyB and Blake are talking about.
I went away for a while, used to post a lot back in the day, I can tell you there are a lot of fresh people here that just seem angry and need a couch to lay on while spouting off their complaints and none sense.
Somewhat off-topic, but just finished F1 Drive to Survive, and "wow"!
Total access to the drivers of teams that allowed it, and you see the good, bad, and ugly. It allows a normal fan to see these drivers' true personalities and make an emotional connection (or develop a disdain for them - whatever).
It occurs to me that this is a huge missing piece in our sport. We basically have to rely on little snippets from IG to formulate that connection with the riders...
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.

Eli finally talks and explains everything as to why he has been off at times this year.
New bike AND his crash, 'I missed all of December. It hurt my confidence. I broke my back! That gets in your head.'
It takes ALL riders a long time to get their speed back from a bad crash. He must have hit the ground hard.
Maybe he doesn't hear it that way, though.
He has TylerMx on speed dial
