Where's Musquin in that scenario?
Maybe a third rider on factory ktm? I was thinking about him as i was typing my first post but honestly in the scenario that ktm wouldn’t do three bikes then maybe something like Jgr, bto ktm.. he’s capable of winning races but isn’t he getting up in age?

Unless Monster drops factory Kawi don't expect KRoc on that team ever, I don't know where they would find a budget to hire him without monster anyway. I've heard that his RedBull deal is almost as much as his salary from Honda. He's the highest paid Red Bull moto athlete in america. I doubt they let that investment go anywhere. I don't think we will see a big shake up unless Eli does go back to Honda. They have to be getting desperate for a premier class title.

I can most definitely see Tomac back on a factory Honda for 2020, with AC and Joey at Monster Kawasaki. I can also see Kenny back on Redbull KTM and Marvin as Baggett's teammate for 2020 also.

I guess the kicker in all that is a) can Kenny and Cooper play nicely? b) Would Kenny be willing to go back to Aldon? (doubt it...).

Silly season should be interesting...

The factory Kawasaki team has already confirmed it will stay a 2 bike team for next season.
Having Tomac locked in and Savatgy already on the team throws a spammer in the works. ( yes Savatgy is only a 1 year contract)

Spammer? LOL

Just FYI, It's "spanner". As in "spanner wrench", as in "That throws a wrench in my plans".

Eli to the MXGP's would be epic. Win the MX nationals this summer. Then go after a few World titles. SX isn't what it once was. It may pay the most. No doubt.

Only a Vitard would call the guy who's 3rd in points "Not performing well".

Eli is still the most valuable rider who will be available. How can the defending MX champion and multiple SX winner be not performing? Marvin is riding very well, but getting up in age. AC is promising but unproven on a 450. Savatgy is impressing for a 450 rookie. If a team wants to pick up a winner now Eli's the best bet. Though not a sure bet in SX. Honda could make a play and it requires pushing the 'I believe' button less than other alternatives. If KTM wants insurance for a few years I could see them making a play for Eli but then what about Marv? Can they put three bikes in the trailer? Where does Eli feel he go and have a bike that suits him the best? He said in a couple interviews that he wants to have a long career. I think he'll try to go where he feels he can have a bike he likes. The silly season will tell us what Eli thinks about the Kawi. If he leaves we'll know he wasn't happy with the bike. Going to be a very interesting silly season!

Worked for jmart right? Sucked at sx so he was able to milk out the 250 class.

Bring the 6 and 92 up to 450s imo

AC to Kawi, Tomac to Honda, and Roczen to JGR makes SOOO much sense that it probably wont happen. It literally makes too much sense.

JGR is known to make GREAT bikes, Roczen was an ANIMAL on Suzuki and has had a horrible career on Honda. Eli was a different rider on Honda. He did get injured, but he flowed like he has never since. Their bike is wayyy better now too. Plus Honda doesnt have a championship since what Mookie in 250s? He’ll at least get em an Mx championship. He rides the Kawi fine because hes strong so he can manhandle it, but Tomac in his top form is a finesse rider, one that puts Marvin to shame. Marvin is the finesse guy since Tomac went Kawi. If Tomac could get back to that his career will elevate. Tomac on Honda in 15 MAY be the fastest mx rider of all time. He was beating Dungey in 2nd by a minute 15... Let that sink in.

Then AC Savatgy on Kawi makes Absolute Perfect sense then Forkner moves up to bump off Savatgy in a few years.

Hopefully AC goes for 4 straight 250 titles and moves up in 21 with a full bank balance and a head full of confidence.

Nothing at all is guaranteed in the 450 class but his odds are pretty good in the 250s.

I don't get why the factories all decided on a 2-man teams? When you consider the major cost of having a fully loaded racing rig on the road for 17 rounds is mostly what it is regardless of how many riders. Yeah there is the expense of an extra bike, but that doesn't seem like too much. And the salary for a # 3 rider, what would that be? 300k? Doesn't seem that much for what they are already spending. I mean one guy gets injured and you have this huge rig and all it's personal for just one guy, seems silly to me. Especially if you than have to pay for a past his prime fill in guy anyway, what money is saved after all that? And how much $$$ were spent on developing a guy like Savatgy as well? Only to say adios after one season. I think it is bad for the sport to be so cheap at the top level.

I don't think Kawi expected Savatgy to be this good Silly Good for him though, he really impressed me this season. How about Dean Wilson? Will husqvarna give him a contract? Maybe JGR will go with Reed, Wilson and Savatgy next year? And how about Peick? Will he ever race again?

I think Roczen needs someone like AC under the tent. Roczen seems to have lost his fire recently and maybe someone young and energetic like ac can bring that back.

Probably the most likely scenario if AC moves up.

Tomac isn’t going any where. He will stay with kawi till the end of his career. He still has another 2 years at kawi in his contract I believe.

With Seeley having the thoughts of retiring the end of this year. I see a factory CRF450 with no rider and AC92 filling that gap. He already has a great connection with the Honda guys, even better relationship with roczen. I just see AC92 wanting a change and a fresh start. He’s been with kawi for so long. But the same routine for the past 10years riding Kawi and then the pressure of a 450 and hype. I just don’t see it working him staying at Kawi.
He’s hinted that he wants to move up to the 450 next year.

Savatgy and Tomac is a great combo. I truely believe Savatgy deserves another year in that KXF and will turn heads with podiums once he can limit the mistakes under pressure.

I don't get the argument of people saying this or that rider won't be on the same team, they don't gel together, they don't "get along"... OEM's could not care less whether their riders are besties or not, they are there to perform and win championships; and what's even more crazy is that a contract rider might have a say on who his teammate will be is beyond me, that's up to the corporate management.

If you're winning, you have more things to say. And Webb is winning right now. His next contract will have better clausules.

I think Kawasaki has a few problems on their hands. Too many riders and not enough factory 450 rides.

Tomac is what he is, 2 time outdoor champ and a guaranteed SX race winner. They would want to keep him.
Savatgy is impressing in his rookie 450 season and he is probably relatively cheap. A great second rider

Then there is the AC and Forkner problem. They could stay down one or two more years but these two (especially Forkner) are potential SX 450 title contenders. And both of these riders will be way more expensive compared to Savatgy.

The bold strategy is to let Tomac go to Honda and go with AC & Savatgy in 2020 and AC & Forkner in 2021. But that is very unlikely.

Kawasaki could really benifit of a satellite 450 team like RMATVMC KTM or MCR Honda.

Edit: One more thing. I think Matthes said in a podcast that a 3 rider team is not an option.
So dump Tomac to keep Savatgy for one season only?

AC will take Tomac's spot on Factory Kawi, Tomac is becoming frustrated with Kawasaki, Tomac has had more mechanical DNF's With Kawasaki than he had in his 8 years with Honda in both the 450 and 250 class. He'll probably sign with JGR after this year, they will be looking for a top level rider like tomac.

Savatgy's speed as the #2 guy must be reducing ET's leverage at Kawi. Yamaha and KTM without one of the current riders are the only place I could see Tomac going to though. Wouldn't surprise me to see JS17 and KR94 at Honda until Honda picks up one of the 250 prodigy's.
