The last 4 years have been the hottest on record since we began tracking global averages.

These temperatures are very very normal in Minnesota and we have had a mild winter thus far with the exception of 3 days that were colder than average.

Add 70 degrees and then its mud if there's enough snow on it.

Probably jelled up fuel... happens a lot this time of year with southern operated trucks. They never get the right fuel or additive in time, then it's too late. The bags drop because the engine stops running. It's a $500 service call to get the fuel filter changed or a $800 +tow bill to get the truck into a heated shop to literally thaw the fuel out. Either way it sucks.

-13 this morning kids. This weather is nothing to screw around with. Over dress and bundle the shit out of the kids. Have a fun and safe night everyone.

One last thing ... hey Feld move this race and the Monster trucks to mid-March and give everyone a fighting chance at better weather. Bonehead scheduling... or did the NCAA require two months to scrub the exhaust?

Last year it was mid April and we got 18in of snow on race day. SX brings out the best in MN weather.

Not sure I could live like that. Its 45 degrees here in Texas and we are going riding today.

Saint Paul record low was -60° F in Feb of 1996 so its not too bad up there Smile .

I was on a snowmobile one night in 1979 up around Brainerd and it was -35° F. Air moving by me just felt harder. I knew I didn't want to do anything stupid and get stuck off the side of the trail. Was wearing my newly released full-faced Bell Star II helmet and it leaked enough air around the visor for me to frostbite my cheeks slightly.

Crazy to think it's that cold up there and feels like 90 here today already. Be safe on the roads today.

Just riding a snowmobile from 1979 is an adventure - let alone -35 windchill Laughing

Good info. I was wondering what a service call for a fuel filter would be in this weather. I drove a diesel up with the wife yesterday and for the 400th time tried explaining to her why some trucks were gelled up and some weren’t. I then started wondering how hard a wallet got hit for a service call like that.

Do you have a block heater? Or will you keep your truck idling? Something to think about if you’ve never dealt with minus temps.

Yes, sleds have advanced alot since then. It wasn’t too long after that that the much needed suspension evolution started in sleds. I remember lusting after the SkiDoo that had twin rear Fox shocks (I think) mounted at the rear outside the tunnel. Mine was a Polaris TX440 so a pretty strong runner but I liked to jump it and that just beat it to hell due to its suspension limitations.

By the way that was -35° ambient temp, not wind chill.

50 to 60 degrees here in Los Angeles and I'm miserable. It's going to rain 3 more days this week. I can't imagine MN in Winter.

It was never -60 in St. Paul, that temp record is way north by the Canadian boarder , St Paul probably had -30 that. Day in 1996. Today’s temps aren’t that bad

Yes. I mistook what city the Google was showing me Smile .

This last polar vortex had the news channels referring to it as the coldest weather in a generation. I guess that actually may be true if a generation is only the number of years between you and your parents age; maybe twenty years. It seems to be an overly dramatic way to state it to me but I guess that lingo better fits into the climate change agenda.
