Let's see/review those 2019 kx450s

Anyone running the link on the rear of a19 , if so how do you like it
I am running the ride engineering link. Makes the rear end feel much more planted throughout the corner, and you can get on the gas harder on the exits due to the rear end sticking to the ground better.

Give us an update when you have it mounted. I'd love to know if its the new spec with longer headpipe that Swap has on his bike.

I was happy with this, FMF 4.1 muffler/mid pipe only, same peak HP but look at everywhere else in the power, plus it really strengthens that mid-top power. This is stock mapping, green clip, 93 fuel, and a twin air screenless filter cage (which in itself was +.25 hp +.25 lbft torque) Couldn't map on this day, so we just did what we could. I am excited to map it, get a little better fuel, and open the air box a bit. But just the FMF muffler was a great edition I think.

Honda65 how’s the slip on with the stock header?
Sorry, I didn't see this. Its ok,nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. It feels heavy. They do have terrific customer service, replacing the mount for free

It's a wrap back up and running. I guess when you unplug an ecu it resets the idle adjustment? Anyways it's idling now haha.

Ah idk TLR told me he likes t4 better. But yeah $90 a can vs $75 so T4 it is haha. I'll let you guys know I also never got to test the torq drive. First ride may be tomorrow but I have to cruise around and break it in so maybe Saturday.

Did you do the TPS reset with the Vortex? There is a procedure. Twisted Developent is the one who told me about the procedure when I installed the my Vortex because the bike wouldn’t idle right.

Just did a fork service at 20 hours and in the right leg there were barely 50ml of oil in the outer chamber! (between 300 and 400ml should be in there according to the manual if i recall correctly). The fork was not leaking at all.

Maybe that's why it bottomed so easily Whistling

However, filled it up with 350ml of oil and installed 5.2Nmm springs so it should be good to go, must have been a fluke.

Definitely not a fluke! My forks also had a ridiculously low amount of oil volume as well. I dont recall the exact number but i think it was in the ball park of about 100

Hold the kill switch and start button down for 3 seconds at the same time. Don’t let off the kill switch, then hold the kill switch, the start button, and hold the throttle wide open for 3 seconds. That resets the TPS parameter in the vortex per TD??

well, sending the yosh back. they did indeed send me a slip on instead of a full system... now i'm seeing them online for almost $100 less for the full system than i would have paid going straight though yosh. i'm seeing the slip ons for like 75 less... sooooo, it's gotta go.
how do guys like your full fmf exhaust? i was told that the head pipe should be longer, but idk...

the yosh is effing huge too.

Apologies if this was answered before, does the previous years suspension swap to a '19?
I am pretty sure the forks will be non issue, but what about the shock?
Somebody must have tried it at this point Smile

Forks will fit in the clamps but the 19 axle is bigger. You would need an older front wheel and axle to go with it. Shock won't fit.

I'm not sure when you get into the ohlins/WP shocks, but I have a feeling a production body 18 and older shock would fit although I never tried it. My A kit shock body from 18 and older was SUPER close to fitting (Ovbiously the older shock would need some massaging in the 19 as 19 shock is a smidge shorter), the cross over from the reservoir to the body is oversize as you know for the kit shocks, and it interferes with the upper mount ever so slightly. You could radius the upper shock mount a smidge and it would fit, Pro circuit originally did it this way but then decided to just run kit internals in the production bodies until they get a new kit body.
