I like the sound of the stocker so I cut about 2 1\2 inches off . It still sounds good, looks good and can't tell any performance gain or loss .

To the guys that have aftermarket pipe's, how do you like the performance of them??? All this talk about how they mount and no talk about how they perform lolol.

I saw a short clip of ML512 with one on a kx, but couldn't really tell how long it was from that....

i need to see one in person i guess....

the yosh is the only one that's rubber mounted and has a welded mount instead of rivets...

Pro circuit is rubber mounted and mid pipe welded now. Not sure if they got all the original stock back and fixed them or if it's just random.

How do you guys think this bike would work in GNCC/east coast off road races? Looking at getting one and ditching my '18 KTM 250XC two stroke. I hate the way the KTM handles and the suspension blows. Just worried this much power will gut me and it will stall a lot in some of the tight stuff.
I switched from a 16 KTM 350 XCF to the '19 KX450 and love it for typical midwest woods. Swapped in the Rekluse Radius CX clutch, had Checkpoint Offroad revalve the suspension and using the soft coupler. Nice and crisp, agile, easy to ride...completely happy with the change. Pre revalve, the fork was already light years ahead of the 4CS fork. Go for it!

FMF 4.1 Less jerky in midpoint of corners. Comes into the midrange stronger. About the same, maybe a tad more top end. I like it because of the smoother bottom and lighter weight plus looks. That’s all.

I don’t have time to read thru 22 pages... Anyone ridden and can compare to the 17 honda 450s? Been thinking real hard about this bike but want an honest average riders opinion.
How do they feel for a taller rider, I’m 5’11 and feel a bit cramped on my Honda. Also not a fan of the initial jerky throttle response but love the rest of the power curve of the crf. is the kawi similar? How is the front/rear bias on the kx? Any feedback would be sweet!

Snack - Kawi power delivery will probably feel similar. If you are a rear end steer guy, probably fine. Front steer style - probably want black coupler at least or remap/vortex. I did remap from twisted+fmf 4.1 - much smoother everywhere. Getting quite comfortable with the bike at 6’4” with stock height pegs and sx race bend bars. Suspension is, I feel , unbalanced stock and needs help. Craig Decker from Enzo did my complete setup = ridiculous good now.

I've put some time on the KX and I'm much happier when I get back on my '17 CRF. Now, I'm short(5'6") and particular about my set up so take that for what it's worth. My bar bend and my revalved suspension would make me more comfortable on the KX. The front brake is amazingly strong for stock but the motor feels weak compared to the CRF. I only notice the jerky throttle response riding slow through the pits but sounds like we both need to send our ecu for remaps, lol

The 19 kx has very smooth linear power - feels almost electric. I think it handles very well, turns well, and has a forgiving chassis and suspension. I’ve ridden the 17/18 Honda crf 450s and they are great bikes. The Honda’s always do feel a little small and short to me from front to back - kind of feels like the front tire is right under me. I think the new kx is pretty neutral on the chassis (much more-so than the 16-18 version. It feels more nimble and flickable. I also feel the kx fits taller riders better. I’m 6’3”. I don’t think you can go wrong with the new KX. It’s an excellent all around bike!

If you ride a kx450 you will go buy one. Especially if you have a 17 or newer CRF450R

Thank you for the feedback, I can definitely relate to feeling like the front wheel is under you. I’ve gotten used to it but still feel like I ride more towards the front so more of a rear end bias would suit me better if that makes sense... do you feel like the cockpit on the kx is more freed up and open to move around?

Thanks for the response dog! In what ways do you feel like the Honda was better? Or what made you happier on the Honda? One thing I noticed on the last kawi I rode (13) was that the motor vibrates thru to the bars and pegs a lot more than I liked... is this the case with the 19?

I think the ergonomics of the KX are great. It’s very open and easy to move around on. Have you had a chance to sit on one?

I’ve sat on one at the dealership, but it doesn’t really tell me much of how it’s going to relate to the track. I did notice that the knee section feels a lot more narrow than the past kawis I’ve sat on

Time to finish my engine, I had it ported by TLR. Was hoping to be done for this weekend but I ended up ordering a Vortex Ecu and it's not coming until next weekend.

No vibrations at all, the 19 is butter virtually no engine braking it's just free and like Datkin said its electric!!

I got a new head. I don't think the original was fixable. You would have to weld it then re bore it perfectly.

I saw that Tokyo mods would remap your ecu for 100 bucks.. anybody know any local shop to buy remapped couplers, I'm new to all this stuff been off the bike a few years or 10 lol
