It's too bad Honda never copied the factory ECU and powervalve from this bike for the production model. MC put this bike on the podium his last season, which was incredible given his age and that everyone else was on a 450.

The 19 Geico bikes look sooooo nice on the stand, but it's probably just me, when they're on the track, they look kind of bland without any yellow on them.

He got 4th in PHX 2006, but that holeshot has turned out to be the last time a 2T has led a lap in Supercross.

I had an '89 CR 250 - wish I still did.

So slim and comfortable, engine was so smooth and linear it could have been electric. Until I put some moose racing power valve springs in, and thought 'well if the light one makes the powervalve open faster, it'll be more power'. yeah, in a 250 with a 125 powerband sort of way.

Absolutely loved the ‘92/‘93, raced one til I wore it out! Really love the ‘78 CR250R as well.

IMO the 01 CR250 is my favorite overall. I love the 05 CRF450, 96 CR250 and 17 CRF450 but the 01 CR250 had be drooling back when it came out. Still don't have one but I will some day.

Call me biased as well but the 74 CR250m took the MX world by storm. That polished alloy tank.....hnnnnngggghhhh! Pure sex.







Then after sitting on their asses for the next several years, along comes the 78 (early/ mid 77 as there was no 77 CR250) CR250, a true works replica. However, my bias shows again, the unobtanium works RC’s were true hand built works of art. 78 RC 500 here, 208 pounds (one day I will weigh it and see how much they lied), 62 hp, 450cc. The end of the twin shock era and air cooled engines were on the way out. There was something great about the simplicity of the machines back then even if they may not have been all that great. It was a good time in the sport.




One extremely tricked out 1980 production CR250 that I recently acquired from some number 29 guy here in Texas.
