How often do you strip your bike down?

I do mine every 4-5 months.

I do mine every winter. I average about 30 hours a season on it. Normally its still pretty clean. I just like to be sure and re-grease everything. Plus its a nice bonding experience since i cant ride in the winter. But to answer your question, yea twice a season is excessive in my opinion. Just make sure everything is tight over the course of your season, youll be just fine.

Typically every 50 hours. My 125 is really easy to pull part. 4 strokes take more time because the wiring. With KTMs the paint gets tore up really fast.

In the northeast we have more mud & sand...typically every 20 hrs I have my fork & shock serviced...at that time I clean & grease everything. If you are a fair weather rider you can go much longer...

kind of chuckled when i saw this thread today. I bought a new link for the rear suspension to install here in a day or so when it comes in, but that turned into me pulling the swing arm and cleaning/re-greasing everything including the rear part of the frame. Surprising how much dirt stays in those not so easy to reach places even on a bike that i wash meticulously after riding.....

Every 20 hours. I change rings every 20 hours on the piston, and do a piston/valves at 40. So I just tear the bike down to the frame since the motor goes to my engine builder. Clean everything, go through all bearings/seals/bolts and rebuild. Usually repack the exhaust at the same time as well. Flush all brake fluid and re-bleed. Usually do new chain/sprockets and plastics/graphics too. If you're not taking care of your bike, how can you expect it to perform it's best

I typically tear it down every 15 to 20 hours to grease everything, torque all the major bolts, bleed brakes, etc

I tear my bikes apart every 2-3 rides. I always have one or two torn down it seams.

I sorta go in sections. For example every other rear tire change, I'll also do wheel, linkage and swing arm bearings.
Same with the front, including steering head bearings and fresh fork oil since it's so easy. Rear shock gets fresh fluid around 20 hours (which is probably on the long side.)

Every 15 hours for me. My son managed to put 60 hours on his bike this season and I admit that I could go longer but at 15 hours I'm just starting to see the dirt penetrate into the bearings. He has an 18 Crf250r, and not a single bearing has loosened up yet. Feeling pretty lucky.

Same for me. 40 hrs or 4 years. What ever comes first.

Suspension gets serviced at 20 hour intervals. Since the suspension is off the bike I re-grease everything.

15 minutes for the forks 35 minutes for bearings...youd be amazed how clean everything is.
